The lemon poncha is one of the best and the garlic bread accompanies it deliciously for a very local aperitif. I let myself be tempted by the squid and shrimp skewer accompanied by grilled sweet potatoes. It was divine but so filling that I couldn't finish my plate. My companion had the pork ribs and he enjoyed it. They were both tender and generous. We didn't have room for dessert. With regret because those of our table neighbors were magnificent“

My husband had a tasty beef egg steak and fries, which were also delicious and on top we got to enjoy them with a great view to Funchal&the ocean while breathing the fresh mountain air. The food focuses on traditional island cuisine, and it’s all super fresh and flavorful. Even better, the whole meal, including wine, was just 60 euros. Seriously, you can't beat that price for what you get.

In terms of menu, the chef's suggestion wasn't on the menu but we followed it because it's a dish I love: tuna belly. It came in a super cute little boat and each belly was well composed.

Dessert was the volcano, which is like a petit gâteau and it was wonderful.

The espetada comes with 6 good-sized pieces. And the serving of potatoes seen in the photo is the medium size. Strong quality/price portions.
