Truly bizarre -- buying bacalhau while the organ player plays on! We were a bit tired from the nearby Porto tasting and heard the garish organ recital and looked in to see what was going on. It's a fixed-price event ... pay the cashier and get a deep-fried bacalhau and a glass of wine, and then climb the stairs to find a bench seat with a small table, and listen to the organ recital. The throughput there is amazing ... there were hundreds of people coming through the doors...
We walked in by chance as we saw this unusual place. We were mesmerised by the place it's a mix of Harry Potter and Mad Hatter. We ordered the codfish coquettes and the most delicious white port. Walked up one of the two stair cases in awe of what we saw. Found a seat up stairs and were delighted with a mini solo piano concert. The port divine the cod fish delectable the atmosphere sublime. Set your expectations, it's not a first class dining experience. The sandwiches we had tasted amazing, were nice and hot, the prices were really good, and the service was perfectly acceptable. Outdoor seating was good too.
