We used viamichelin website for a restaurant in Porto and found Apego.It was a good decision to go here, we enjoyed it very much. We took the 5 course tasting menu with pairing wines. Each course we found very tasteful, with the pairing wine further elevating the flavors. To us the key world was balance. Each course fitted nicely with the predecessing course. The crew was very nice, taking time to explain every dish and wine in both Portugese and (perfect) English and making us feel at home. A place we certainly recommend as the people here understand what tasting and pairing means!

Just perfect This Saturday is our last evening in Porto; We ate in a different restaurant each of our 13 evenings. Tonight was the absolute highlight, we can only recommend every visitor to Porto to visit Apego. The five-course menu was balanced, tasted good, surprised with unexpected combinations (for example: beetroot with raspberries) and could not have been prepared better in terms of cooking. Kudos to the cooks. The service was trained and unobtrusive, the wine pairing was appropriate, and if you as a guest had a request, they were there.
We will definitely come back on our next visit to Porto.

I've never written a review before. Never felt the compulsion. But I really don't think I've had a better dinner in my whole life. We ordered all of the starters. I thought that was a silly thing to do at first, but quickly changed my mind about that. The pork shank was ridiculous. I've paid way more for way less in quantity and quality. Truly remarkable. I would earnestly consider flying back just to eat here again, even though that's definitely not something I can afford to do.
The cherry on top, so reasonably priced. Ballin on a budget, but Ballin really really hard.
