We have already visited many Michelin restaurants. But this was incredibly good from start to finish. The staff was very friendly, gave a lot of explanation about everything. It was really cool that there was something special with each dish, especially the dish with the blindfold. The combinations of some dishes really exploded in your mouth, so tasty! If you are in Porto, I definitely recommend that you make a reservation here!

Perfect for eating, although a priori the price may be high, you can eat a very delicious burger for a more moderate price. It is beautiful and cozy

Located in the heart of Porto, in a beautiful building, the Torel Palace, we find restaurante Blind. We have made reservations for a 10-course experience, but we don't yet know exactly what to expect. Judging by the reviews, this should be an extraordinary experience...
We eat an appetizer of duck and foie gras, a cone with cheese and tomato and a cold espresso martini.
The yellowtail fish is very tasty and is served with a gazpacho, coriander oil and a cucumber foam.
The next dish will be a challenge. It's not fun to reveal everything here, but all your senses are appealed to in this special restaurant.
We get shrimp with leek foam. Four types of home-baked bread, ravioli with porcini mushrooms and a pumpkin leaf. Furthermore, vegetables with a shrimp with caviar from Austria. Ribeye with truffle and fried sprout leaves with black garlic. The sea bass with razor clams and barnacles (eaten for the first time here in Portugal) is accompanied by audio to enhance the experience of the sea.
We end this experience with a dessert of cotton candy with caramel candies. This dessert is inspired by the childhood of chef Vitor Matis, who grew up in Switzerland.
There are four of us here and we agree we had a great experience. In particular the delicious and beautiful food, the friendly service, the relaxed atmosphere and not to forget the delicious wines from Portugal and the Douro.
Every now and then an extra experience is added, which makes the experience extra fun and funny. Not forced, but in a fun way.
The emphasis should of course be on the food and drinks and that is perfectly fine! A Michelin star would certainly not be out of place here.

WOW! An incredibly great experience, the food was of the highest quality, a lot of attention to detail with little surprises and specialties that made the evening very entertaining. A huge compliment to the entire service - it was perfect from every single person, everyone was extremely attentive and the sommelier had great wine recommendations. An all-round successful evening for us - we would recommend this experience to anyone - it is worth the price.

A fun dinner experience with pretty good dishes. I am only giving 4 stars for the food because it was to much seafood, one of the meat dishes had chicken, a bit disappointed, but the rest was overall good. We felt that we could skip the burger and fries as well.
Their blind experience was pretty fun and different.
The service was pretty good, but we felt the dinner was a bit on the long side.
I would recommend if you want a romantic dinner with a different take on the tasting menu.

We loved it! The setting, the staff, the food. Everything was great! We were able to share a moment with them at the end of the service and they were incredibly kind and attentive. We thank the Blind team again and we look forward to returning there on our next getaway to Porto!

The evening at the Blind was very enjoyable and will certainly be remembered for a while. Unfortunately, I think they could have done a bit more with the promising concept. "Blind" was only once, the other senses were not addressed, contrary to my expectations. The food and drinks were good, but personally I thought the price-performance ratio wasn't quite right. All in all, I don't regret the visit, but I probably wouldn't come back.Oh and I have been told in the restaurant while paying, when I left by a handed QR-Code, after the restaurant by mail and also by text to please leave a trip advisor review. That was a bit over the top. ;-)
This restaurant is out of this world. We had an amazing experience dining here and would recommend anyone visiting Porto to visit and try it. The theme of the restaurant and the food is based on one of José Saramago's books called Blind. The restaurant and the experience are an absolute must for fans and newcomers to his world alike.

Deserves 4.25 stars. The Atmosphere, Service/Staff, and presentation of the food was all exceptional. Truly a beautiful dining experience. The flavor ranged from good to excellent depending on the dish (we did 12 tastings). The additional programming to help trigger senses was cute and a fun change of pace to a typical meal, but I don't think it had a meaningful impact on the overall dining experience. Here's why 4 (4.25) and not 5 stars. (1) Our tastings were very seafood heavy (half of the tastings). We like seafood, but that much of it left us both with a rather fishy aftertaste in our mouths that lingered into the following dishes and was difficult to cleanse. Portugal is obviously known for its seafood, but a slightly more balanced approach to the 12 'moments' would've done the overall meal and menu more justice - in our opinion (maybe 2 random, 4 seafood, 4 non seafood and 2 dessert). (2) The portions were a bit large (I know how ridiculous it is for someone to complain about that but hear me out), we did go with the 12 moments (FYI 10 is plenty for most people), so we set ourselves up to be full by the end, but we were both full by the 6th moment which made it difficult to really enjoy the second half of the meal. The second moment was a delicious bread dish but the bread portion was half a small loaf per person when half a big roll per person would've been sufficient. And (3), as mentioned already, the food ranged from good to excellent and I'd say the average dish was very good but at this price point I'd expect a slightly better average. It's also difficult to judge them fairly when there are so many exceptional restaurants in Porto that are far more affordable with comparable food flavors but don't match the experience.IF you're looking for a first class and unique dining experience, this is a great option. If you're mostly interested in great flavor at a reasonable price, this will probably leave you feeling dissatisfied because it is quite expensive...but if you're spending your money with the experience as a primary driver of your investment, it's worth it.

Blind, in Porto, is much more than a restaurant; It is an exceptional gastronomic journey. Through 10 or 12 moments, each one is a delight for the senses and an unforgettable emotional experience. The culinary quality reaches impressive levels, with a selection of dishes that masterfully fuse ingredients. Each bite is an explosion of flavors, backed by a presentation that captivates the eye.Mariana Oliveira, who waited on us throughout the experience, dazzled with her detailed knowledge of each dish, making the tasting even more enriching. Their attention to detail and kindness stood out, making the visit a pleasure from the first moment. The presence of chef Rita Magro, who came to our table to make sure everything was to our liking, added a personal and warm touch. This gesture underlines Blind's commitment to customer satisfaction. In short, Blind exceeds any expectations you may have. Excellence in gastronomy, impeccable service and personalized attention combine to offer a culinary experience that goes beyond the ordinary. Blind is, without a doubt, a destination that elevates gastronomy to a level of art.

We went here at the weekend for my husbands 40th birthday and couldn’t fault it from start to finish. Wonderfully attentive staff, beautiful food, theatrical elements and the wine pairing was delicious. We even met the chef who came out after to see how we had enjoyed the meal. Unforgettable experience and would totally recommend to anyone!
My husband and I had a splurge dinner here on our honeymoon in Portugal and could not have been more delighted! It is VERY expensive, especially with the wine pairing, but it is 100% worth the cost if you are interested in trying imaginative flavors and presentations and learning to like foods that you may have disliked or not tried before. For a special occasion, I would recommend their tasting menu to anyone. I loved that we had no idea what dishes we were getting until our server described them to us, and the sommelier was an expert at pairing our courses with wonderful local wines. I am a very picky eater but committed to at least trying each dish, and I was astonished to discover that I liked a few foods here that I typically can't stand. For example, I usually LOATHE mushrooms but had TWO dishes with mushrooms that I found sensational. I don't want to ruin the surprise by describing the dishes, or "moments," too much (I think the menu also changes seasonally), but each was thoughtfully prepared and flavorful, with a good sense of playfulness and approachability despite the haute cuisine vibes. Some were twists on recognizable classics, while others were dishes I would never have imagined putting together. I never felt condescended to or treated as though I didn't belong there, which I have experienced at some other fine dining establishments. The service was impeccable, knowledgeable, and friendly. If you have any food allergies or sensitivities, I recommend letting the restaurant know beforehand. I am allergic to shellfish, so we had to enjoy the 10-course tasting menu instead of the 12-course one we had planned on because some dishes had no substitutes. However, the chef also found some delightful substitutes for a couple of my courses while my husband was able to enjoy his shellfish dishes, and I didn't feel that my courses were inferior in any way. I cannot emphasize enough what a wonderful time we had during this marathon tasting dinner. Each "moment" gave us something to rave about and discuss and discover. We will remember this dinner for the rest of our marriage. 5+ stars all around.
