We ate well, in the typical summer beach bar next to the river, but when paying, they forced us to tip at least 10%. A scam for tourists, to charge whatever they want. Be careful with the drink! They charge you for wine at the price of Gin Tonic!!! A robbery.

We had dinner at Botequim Nostalgic Restaurant at night. It’s located on a busy street with a nice view of the river—a prime location. The menu features both Italian and Portuguese dishes. We ordered the Diavola pizza, which was good, and the Caesar salad, which was also good and came in a large portion. The service was fast. However, it is expensive, with the pizza costing 15 euros, the Caesar salad 12.9 euros, and a glass of wine 6 euros. If you’re not familiar with the local cuisine and seafood, this place is a nice alternative.

Food was so-so. When I paid by card was asked if I wanted to leave a 10 percent tip, I said no as I already left cash on the table for the server. When I got my credit card bill they had added the 10 percent. I would not eat there again.

The service was really slow. The quality if the food and drinks was really poor. We had to order twice because they missed part of our order. Also they were running out of pastries and they didn’t told us. The only reason why we stayed there was the great view it has.

Come there late evening cause almost everything was closed. For me place was ok. Drink cocktails, enjoy the music. Cocktails was nice looking, maybe not enough alcohol inside, music outside nice. We didn’t eat there, so can’t recommend any dishes. It was a cold evening and they provided some gas warm stations. Staff were very polite!

Meal was lovely. No waiter or waitress came to ask did we need anything more or did we enjoy our meal. I asked for the bill. The waitress came promptly with the bill but I was very taken aback when cheekily she said could I add 10% service tip. I felt I had no choice in the way she approached me. Not happy!!
Despite several negative reviews, my experience at Botequim Nostalgic was very good! The food and service were great. I recommend and would return.

The only reason we ended up at this restaurant was because of the view and having the best seat for the performers. The music was so good! A really good atmosphere. The food is another story, it was not the greatest for the amount you pay. They can charge that amount because they know people will come to sit right by the water. The quality is just not there. The servers were nice though!
