Excellent products and good service. I was a regular customer between 1998 and 2004. I am again.
Atmosphere? You should mention the air currents... there aren't any inside. There is it on the terrace.

It's a type of restaurant called a "cervejaria" which is generally a big all-day beer bar with full menus and good table accommodation. They also tend to be good value for money. This is a big busy restaurant which is very popular with locals and tourists alike and it's advisable to book for dinner if you want to be sure of getting a table during peak periods, otherwise there is seating at the bar which often fills up quickly. I dined there twice; the first time I had a decent vegetable soup (caldo verde), a very good sea bass with roasted vegetables and a slice of cinnamon cake with a half bottle of white and a coffee and the bill came to around 23 euro. The portions are large, as they tend to be in Portugal and the service is quick and friendly. My second visit was to try out the Porto delicacy called Francesinha, which is like a triple sandwich with lamb, sausage and bacon and cheese topped with a fried egg in a wide plate filled with a slightly spicy gravy. Not the healthy option by any standard, but incredibly tasty and here they prepare a very good one. In preparation my advice would be to either order half portions or go with a good appetite. They also have a good range of wines and, of course, beers. Not 'cordon bleu' but generous portions of good, healthy - for the most part - food and swift service.

First visit to this local restaurante, very well organized right at the entrance and very tastefull Francesinha. Because I don't eat meat the waitress explained that although there wasn't in the menu they could do a vegetarian one for me. Very polite a quick service. We do recomend a visit when you visit Oporto city. We will came back for sure.

Excelent food with the best Portuguese cuisine but the service’s really bad. The employee doesn’t care about the client at all. Not polite or educated. It’s a shame when a restaurant have such a great food and the service doesn’t go with that. Only for that I give 3 stars (luckily not 2).

Went on recommendation from couple of Portuguese Guys from Cafe Imperio, Pinhao as having the best Francesinha in Town and they weren't wrong! Having seen the size and obvious richness of someone else's serving, we decided to go half's & share one. Busy but attuned waiter was totally fine with thus & it probably is a thing because when the wonderful dish arrived we each had an Egg on top of our half portion (extra €2 added but heyho!) Throughly worth while experience - would DEF' recommend and also do again...

Me and my partner arrived in Porto late on a weekday and we were starving. Luckily the kitchen at restaurant Capa Negra II was open till 23:00 (closing at 00:00) in the evening and was the only thing open past 22:00 in the area. I opted for a steak sandwich with ham which was absolutely lush. The steak was cooked perfectly and the bread tasted fresh. My partner ordered one of the special dishes of pork, potatoes, veggies etc which turns out it was big enough for two. To wash the food down we got some lovely local beers, one being the house beer. Everything was well priced, well worth it. Highly recommend especially when arriving to Porto late in the evening.

Capa Negra makes the best francesinhas, been coming here for years, never disappointed. Good service in a friendly atmosphere.

we went there to have francesinha, the typical Porto sandwich which is a concentrate of cholesterol and sugary / starch calories. It was no doubts well done. Interiors are impersonal and service had some hiccups. Location not ideal, with a terrace roadside.
