Unfortunately, the experience at this cafe leaves a lot to be desired due to the service.
While some employees are polite, there are two specific servers who are extremely rude and disrespectful.
Their behavior is unacceptable, looking more like that of uneducated and disorderly people.
It's a shame, because the place has potential, but the attitude of these servers completely ruins the experience.

My friend and I visited last month and this place was close to our Airbnb, we enjoyed the people watching, good service and reasonable prices but were aware of unwanted stares from patrons outside the café which made us feel uneasy. I can totally understand Matthew Sparks previous comments as we did not feel very safe but the staff were really lovely and eager to please
He refused me registration for the ,, Placard,, because the waitress, herself, was at lunch time and the food was going to get cold. I didn't make the bet because there was an urgent exit and I didn't even have time to try at the nearest agency, there in Praça do Marquês. I know that what I should have done was participate in the Santa Casa...

Seriously a place to avoid at all costs, in spite of it's charm and decent location. I was enjoying the local company and cheap prices until I was robbed in broad daylight, early afternoon by what appears to be a combine of petty theives outdoors. I had to fight with them and argue to get my bag back, of course missing my tablet. Staff were suspicious and unhelpful. There was also a knife fight that took place adjacent to me as my own drama was unfolding. The 'security' there is more akin to an 'insecurity' in my humble opinion.
