One of the most remarkable corners of the city Porto is Majestic Cafe. The cafe over a century is service with unique architecture in the centre of shopping street

Great food and environment to spend for a leisure lunch. Francesinho was very yummy because of the high quality beef and soup.

My wife wanted to visit here. The guy on the door was friendly and helpful. We sat at one of Angelo’s table’s. We got the menu and after scanning page 2 (‘For food intolerances please ask your server’) we asked Angelo if there was anything gluten free. He said no. We looked again and asked again if there were any sweet treats gluten free. ‘No’ We left and went to honest greens a few doors away. Treat yourself to something special; go to honest greens.

This is a great place for afternoon tea. They don’t accept reservations for lunch or tea and there is a line to get in. In our case the wait wasn’t too long. It’s a unique art deco design which could probably use some updating or restoration. The sandwiches provided with the service were good but the scones were too dry and sweets were just okay. Service was good and overall a fun experience. The deserts that other customers were ordering looked great.

Usually there is a queue but today I walked straight in and it is certainly a lovely place. But very expensive in Porto terms. €5 for an espresso very steep. But nobody forces you to come through those doors and the decor of this iconic cafe is worth paying a little extra, at least once.

This cafe trades on its heritage do not waste your money paying the inflated prices . You have to wait for a table not a problem if the experience is outstanding - it is not .. it’s average at best . We found a local cafe Seara Doce 5 mins walk away with better toasted bread for less than 2 euros and it’s awesome our 6 euro toast was cold . Staff are too busy to smile ! Best part of this landmark cafe is the photo option before entering.

The café and its atmosphere are indeed Majestic! The food is good, nothing out-of-this-world, but still delicious. In my opinion it's a bit overpriced, but still worth the visit.

Lovely premises. Food very very average and very expensive. Maybe rethink visiting here. Many better options available.

Fabulous experience - yes its pricey, but food was great as was the service. Well worth a visit. Really ‘majestic’ inside.

Very nice place, beautiful surroundings. Old time atmosphere. Good service. Excelent food. It was worth waiting in the queue outsite even though it rained.

Funky belle epoque interior but otherwise pretty average and best avoided. Great menu choice but expensive. Mistake in service delivering peanuts when peanuts and more expensive cashews ordered. Bread in sandwich of average quality dispute the price.

I was lucky I received a table right away. The service was pleasant and efficient. I had the sea bass. It was well prepared and tasty. The price is what I would pay in Chicago. I enjoyed the restaurant

My visit to Majestic Café in Porto was a step back in time to the Belle Époque era of European cafés. The café’s ornate and historic interior, with its gilded mirrors and chandeliers, created a truly opulent setting for a coffee and pastry. The menu featured a selection of Portuguese pastries and classic coffee preparations. Sipping an espresso while surrounded by the café’s timeless beauty was a delightful experience. The attentive staff added to the charm, offering warm hospitality. Whether you’re starting your day with a coffee or indulging in an afternoon treat, Majestic Café is a must-visit for a taste of Porto’s rich cultural heritage and a glimpse into its artistic past.

I’m sure locals stopped patronizing this cafe decades ago. The 1922 era interior is very pretty, so if that’s all you care about, walk in, take a quick look around and walk out. We splurged and had dessert paired with a glass of port. The owners know they can charge whatever price they want and they do. Everything is overpriced, but you can check prices before entering. Service was adequate but nothing special.

We saw the queues, we read the menu, we went inside and ordered ... what a mistake. A club sandwich with fries (?) was 22 Euro. My sister and I had half each as we planned to have a cake and coffee too. My very very small beer (5 Euro) and water arrived. Then our club sandwich. The bread was the cheapest white soggy bread which had been toasted for a few seconds (suspect stale bread) inside were a few strips of hard chicken leg (the Manager insisted they only used breast), there was a little soggy tomato, a bit of weird ham/bacon some boiled egg and the sandwich was awful and minute. The french fries weren't cooked and there were about 3 each (I should have photographed it). I complained to the waitress she shrugged and walked off to tell the Maitre D/Manager ? ... a slimy man who touched woman and perhaps men before entering the cafe thinking he was being friendly ugh). Nothing happened. I then went and spoke to the Maitre D who changed to an aggressive charmless creature who argued that 'everyone else said how nice the food was' ... hardly a professional or helpful approach. Again NO APOLOGY!!! I am not a serial complainer but for 30 plus Euros what a dreadful experience ... I said I would be putting a review on TripAdvisor and he begrudgingly said that we wouldn't be charged for the club sandwich. We couldn't get out fast enough.
