Einfach mega! Danke 💛
Opções veganas muito apelativas e saborosas. Serviço simpático e atencioso. Ambiente tranquilo e casual. Experiência extremamente satisfatória. Se tivesse a opção, atribuía as 5 estrelas! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
A guide recommended coming here for the vegan Francesinha. The menu had a separate vegan section. The vegan Francesinha lived up to expectations.
Casanova is a great alternative when traveling with non-vegan friends or family. They have multiple vegan options of typical Porto dishes. The staff is knowledgeable on vegan products and fully aware of the difference between vegetarian and vegan. They are certified by ProVeg. The francesinha was tasty, but not as flavorful as I have had in other establishments. However, they do use proper high-protein alternatives and not just vegetables, which makes it more similar to the original.
Casanova is a true hidden gem in Porto. While not fully vegan, their dedicated plant-based menu is packed with local classics, thoughtfully veganized. We went for a celebration and couldn’t skip two staples: the pica-pau and the francesinha—both were excellent. The francesinha easily lands in my top 3. Built with vegan sausages and marinated seitan, it had the perfect texture and richness. The sauce could be slightly more flavorful, but overall it was spot on. The pica-pau was another win, full of variety and bold taste thanks to the mix of seitan and sausages. To top it off, we shared all the vegan desserts on the menu—yes, all of them! Highlights were definitely the bolo de bolacha and doce da casa. Both were creamy, nostalgic, and the perfect sweet ending. If you’re looking for an authentic taste of Porto through a vegan lens, this place is a must.
Nós veganos também merecemos casas à portuguesa e despretensiosas ❤️ Updated from previous review on 2025-06-13
We found this place online and made the short trek via Metro from the center and was totally worth it. Friendly staff, it's a normal meat restaurant with a whole vegan menu all very clear. The food was great, flavourful and two options of N/A beer. We had ours on the terrace. They speak perfect English.
Muy amables y con bastantes opciones veganas a buen precio. La francesinha vegana que tienen es la más sabrosa que he probado de Oporto.
It’s really nice of them that make it possible for vegetarians to eat their flagship dish. I’ve had francesinha, it was ok but not really my kind of food, too unhealthy 😅 very nice staff Edit3 I lowered my rating after eating francesinha in “O oriente no Porto”, this sandwich can be much better than this Updated from previous review on 2025-04-23
Staff was super friendly. Inexpensive and great portions.

You don’t have to go to a dedicated vegan place to find a good vegan Francesinha. Some places like this have a vegan option that is not only authentic but also very delicious. This particular one was a little more spicy than the ones I tried at other places, but I liked it. Don’t underestimate the portion. It might seem like a little sandwich but the combination of tofu, seitan and vegan Chorizo will keep you full for HOURS. Also don’t skip the espresso afterwords! 😉
It’s great to try a vegan version of a traditional local dish. It’s a really interesting meal, very filling, and tasty. The prices are reasonable. The staff is very friendly. They even asked my partner if he wanted more sauce. Highly recommend!
I had a vegan Francesinha, which was amazing, one of the best I've ever had. It has a very large vegan menu, with options for all tastes.
The staff was amazingly kind and knowledgeable, the vegan options are clear and junky ? It's very popular among locals, they were having a good time and francesinha, and it felt nice to be among them! Also almost all deserts are vegan??????? Yum.
One of the few places I could find in Porto that did a vegan francesinha. I’m vegetarian so was able to get regular cheese and get an egg on top (though they do a fully vegan version too). The staff were so lovely and helpful when deciphering the menu. Would give 5 stars if I could! Updated from previous review on 2024-09-14
