Restaurant with a very special concept!
6 surprise courses, every course was delicious!
We were there spontaneously and were actually 20 minutes late, but we were still able to take part because the waiters and kitchen were so flexible.
Went here on the recommendation of a friend and it was very worth it! Great staff, super delicious wines and really outstanding food. 45€ menu price is more than fair!
Keep it up, we'll definitely be back.

Not a great place to dine, I went as was suggested by many reviewers. No jokes, no laughs. Although, we were charged for each person, most courses were shared including the desert. Just one inhouse shot was served. We were told there would be a meat and fish course, but I dont eat pork or beef and was just served another fish at the meat option, no option was given! Quite a let down for €99. They charge you additional for water and bread inspite of a fixed rate person of €45, which was shocking!
The food was good but I have eaten better. Service was ok. Would I go again….. No.

One of the best meal I’ve ever had, love the chef surprised menu and how attentive the servers are. It would be great to have an idea how many dishes we’re having so we can pace ourselves, we’re so stuffed towards the end that we couldn’t enjoy the main properly.

??This is our favorite restaurant in Portugal! We came last year and celebrated American thanksgiving here. So this time my queen having just had a birthday. We celebrate again!
This restaurant builds the menu daily based on what's fresh in the market, the mood of the chef with input from the team, grounded in traditional Portuguese cuisine with a whimsical flair and a ton of LOVE.❤️ so please strap in… don't over think it, and enjoy the ride! A meal you don’t choose but won’t regret, an experience you will remember for a lifetime and maybe forge friendships that will remind you how small the planet is and how great food binds us together… with love.❤️

A disappointment. Vulgar and unprepared food. Neither fresh products nor seasonal products. And it also takes 2:30 hours to serve the food.
Why half an hour between an empanada that looked like Argentinian Empanadillas and three pieces of marinated salmon that is better than any airport? Neither an elaborate dish, nor a dish where flavors or textures mix. A real disappointment. For this they charge 45 more drinks?

15 minutes of waiting in front of the restaurant with the sign "please wait here" with waiters and cooks who walked past us without saying a word to us, a shame...

I called last minute to get in, which the hostess did get us in for a 20:45 reservation - the weather was terrible and we were 10 minutes late- they told us about the kitchen closing and we needed to order quickly. Honestly, we would wouldn’t have made the reservation knowing we were basically holding the kitchen up cause that’s not our style but they were nice enough about it and the server was very good. We didn’t get the “full” experience we would normally want from a nicer place like this BUT know that I still think they knocked it out of the park.
The service was amazing, and even tho we tipped the kitchen staff the server told us they all work together and that extra tips were share with them which was cool to know.
The appetizers were the highlight, the steak was good but the dessert was incredible. Their wine recommendation was perfect and over all it was lovely.

Anticipation can make or break a dining experience. Expect too much, anything can bring disappointment. Expect too little, you'll lack excitement. I was pleased to know very little before going, just that my partner had booked a great restaurant that was highly recommended.
Upon arrival, the short line of people waiting to enter (we were all there ahead of the opening of the doors) gave me hope that tonight is be good. It was hot, the street was narrow, and the entrance inviting. We each entered and sat, my partner in a chair that I hoped was more comfortable than my bench. I quickly forgot the discomfort as I looked around and was enamored with the space. A great environment, quickly supplemented by a vivacious server, Anna, who made it clear she was going to have a good time with all of us.
The menu was without choice. Everything was at the whim of the chef, and nothing was regrettable, except it seemed the food wouldn't stop coming and we couldn't stop eating it. I thought I'd gain 30 lbs.!
We began with a plate of beet hummus, olives, and herbed butter, along with a basket of bread, both soft and hard. All good, but the hummus was the star. The second course was a phyllo dough filled with jam and cheese, topped with toasted almonds. Nobody left even a crumb behind.
Our third course was a tuna tartare on crustini. It had a wonderful back end with a bite. This one I could have repeated without guilt, often.
Fourth course, a poultry sausage in a light phyllo wrap. The seasonings were perfect, yet indescribable. It was just so good. And we were so full. But we weren't finished.
Course number five. A tureen of cod fish, multiple cheese, and flavor that forbid abbreviation of consumption. We were going to take the long road home, just to walk it off, but that was okay.
Our next course was pork ribs cooked to perfection on a bed of mashed sweet potato, accompanied with a mushroom and cabbage side. We just couldn't finish all of them, because, yes, more to follow.
Finally, the dessert course. The one I always regret because it's my weak spot. This was no exception, well worth every calorie consumed. The sorbet was crisp and fresh, a berry flavor, overshadowed by the most amazing chocolate cake with fudge sauce.
While I only had the welcome cocktail, which was wonderful, others had drinks. The only complaint was too much egg foam, making for a smaller drink than anticipated.
So, amazing food, service, and presentation, proper explanation of each course, what could be better? Our table neighbors, with whom we had great interaction throughout the evening, and connected for the future. Without them, it would have been a great meal. With them, an amazing experience. (Lou, you were right!)
Reservations are mandatory, and must be made well in advance. No Amex, but cards are accepted.
Don't come to Porto and miss this place!

A friend of ours gave us the tip to definitely eat at CHAMA in Porto.
We were there this evening and were absolutely thrilled.
An extraordinarily creative cuisine that combines traditional cuisine with modern, extremely sophisticated cuisine.
7 course surprise menu that leaves nothing to be desired.
Service staff who are infectious with their charm and positive energy.
And we had a nice chat with our neighbors at the next table.
I think 42 EUR for seven high-quality courses is a more than fair price
Please, dear CHAMA team: keep it up!
