What a hidden gem this restaurant is! The outside doesn't do justice to what's inside. And what's inside is a wonderful host, smiling people, good food and beautiful plants along the windows. If you like Portuguese cuisine (and you know you do) you will enjoy stopping at this place. Amélia's Kitchen is a great place for dinner - very private and peaceful. Exactly what you need after a long day in Porto.

Best traditional Portuguese food restaurant I have had in Lisbon/Porto. Very generous portions sizes and friendly staff..
The garlic prawns is really delicious though it is on the salty side (but perfect when accompanied by bread). The pork steak with mushroom rice and vinegar and coriander is exceptional and I highly recommend this dish. We also got a bottle of vinho Verde to go with our meal - it went really well with the food .
If you want a high quality, not touristy, traditional Portuguese food experience, then come here!

I have yet to understand how this owner goes on a television program to say that her restaurant is in the top 10. I don't think so, as the score I just checked is no more than 3.9 points. As for the said lady, the statements made here demonstrate her arrogance, poor education and, consequently, low level. You certainly won't be the right person to run a restaurant. Just read the reviews left here by some customers.
