The place is unbelievable. Simple yet elegant. Food menu exquisite with the best service I've ever had. I have some severe food allergies that they accommodated without question or feed back. The servers were quick to help and knew exactly how to maneuver the menu accordingly. Ask for Julia she's the best???

Spectacular experience from beginning to end! I ordered the Fish Moqueca (extremely flavorful) and Florida Mocktail (super refreshing). It looked like something Carmy from the television show “The Bear” would whip up ? Our servers were Carol and Prianka. They were extremely lovely! What amazed me was that not only did Carol and Prianka serve our dishes to our table, but they also explained our dishes in full detail as they served them. My compliments to the chef - not only was every dish mouth-watering, but she gifted our table the Couvert as an appetizer (very palatable) and white chocolate truffles covered in slivered almonds as dessert (very rich). While I was eating, I kept thinking to myself, “These all look like Michelin Star dishes if they were served on large plates.” Upon leaving the restaurant, I was informed by one of the staff that Gruta actually received a star. Very well deserved! My entire dining experience was a 5/5 stars ⭐️ I can’t wait to come back to Porto and dine here again!

We had a great romantic dinner, and the service was on point. All the food we ate was tasty! It's quite an expensive choice, but for a special occasion it can be a good choice!

Location: a little hidden, appreciated, it is not the usual restaurant.
Atmosphere: Somewhat noisy because of the music, but the informal atmosphere accompanies it.
Service: Charming and impeccable, the prior explanation of the dishes is appreciated.
Food: Very good, yes, very personal from the chef with spicy touches and spices in dishes that you would not expect in those dishes, very personal interpretation. You usually like it but there is the signature.
Price: €125 + tip for 2 people without wines. 3 small starters, two mains and two desserts.
A great place, it deserves a 5*, but it would not be a priority in the future.

We had a very nice lunch here. Had we arrived even a few minutes later we would not have gotten a table, so it is best to make a reservation. We shared several of the starters with a bottle of wine from the region. The couvert was freshly baked and the zucchini salad was refreshing. Our favorites were the razor clams, langoustine bisque, and crudo. A nice experience, although skip the dessert and coffee (which is just nespresso).

Had dinner here.
The taste of most things was simple and good.
The bread was delicious.
The portions were small Vs the prices.
The rice was undercooked and the raviolis were acid and empty..
Would not come back

Are you in Porto, do you like fish and seafood, and good food? Then you have to go to Gruta. Wide choice of Portuguese wines, delicious fish and shellfish and as a surprise the desserts that were truly unique. Recommended: the pavlova with cherries and wasabi ice cream and the chocolate mousse with olive ganache.

We made a reservation online at Gruta ahead of our trip to Porto. Food was inventive, well presented and tasty. We thought that the starters were better than the main courses. Serving portions were smaller than most restaurants in Portugal. Service and pacing was very good and the wine pairing recommendations from our server were also excellent. They did add auto tip which is not typical for Portugal.
