Excellent menu, staff, location. Food was either from Buffett (cold) or ordered from the waiter staff. Well prepared, very attentive, wonderfully creative food. Located in Le Monumental Palace hotel in the middle of Porto. Recommended highly for breakfast; I am assuming lunch and dinner would be as special as breakfast.

The place doesn’t exist anymore. I was there in the morning and couldn’t find anything. They need to indicate the they are out of business. Sorry.

Omelette was small, overcooked, and tasted like fish? I guess the eggs Benedict was edible, but only one? For over 15€?!? At these wildly exorbitant prices, I was hoping someone would know how to cook eggs, but I was mistaken. Coffee was both bitter AND weak. This place is for tourists with too much money and not enough sense, too scared to leave the safety of the hotel. Please don't think this is what food is like from Porto. Head outside, try something strange, meet someone other than hotel staff.

At these wildly exorbitant prices, I was hoping someone would know how to cook eggs, but I was mistaken. Coffee was both bitter AND weak. I wish I could give the server more points, but anyone who works in food service should be able to recognize completely overcooked eggs. Again, especially at these extremely high prices.

Amazing breakfast in an amazing hotel

Breakfast spot inside hotel. One of the few places open before 8am. You can do the buffet menu for 30 euro or a la carte. Got the omelet for 12 euro. Pricey for what it is but not many options at this hour.

Food wasn't as great as I expected. The french toast was very soggy in the middle. Overall, I had a much better breakfast for a similar price at a nearby hotel.

Note: La Mezzanine is located inside a hotel. We came in for breakfast one morning because hotels are the only spots open before 8 am. They offered a buffet for 25 euros per person or a small a la cart menu. We chose from the a la cart menu. My porridge was smaller than I thought it would be for 10 euros and had a sad showing of toppings (like 4 blueberries). My husband ordered the salmon brioche which was quite good. Overall the food is good but as you’d expect at a nice hotel, it’s expensive.

Absolutely excellent as one might expect from a hotel of this quality. The staff were attentive and efficient and the ability to cope with my wife’s dietary requirements were second to none. We even got a small takeaway box of bread and cakes for her. Food was tasty and well prepared. An excellent start to the day!
