Molete Bread & Breakfast Saint Lazarus (Molete Bread & Breakfast São Lázaro)

I visited Molete Bread and Breakfast at Passeio de São Lázaro 5, Porto, with my daughter for a quick bite. We ordered a sandwich and an orange juice. A friendly Brazilian lady took our order, and another staff member brought it to our table. Unfortunately, the wrong order was delivered, and we ended up with two sandwiches instead of one.

I was distracted and took a bite of the sandwich before realizing the mistake. Some other customers were looking at us, likely because we had taken their order. The delivery lady had mistakenly given us the wrong food. When I tried to clarify the situation, a very angry Portuguese lady loudly accused me of eating an order that wasn’t mine. I was shocked by how poorly the situation was handled.

I offered to pay for both my original order and the incorrect one to avoid any trouble for the staff, as I didn’t want anyone to lose their job over this mistake. After paying the difference, I sat outside for a few minutes. To make matters worse, the owner announced very loudly that they would be closing soon, which only added to my frustration.

The way they treated their customers and staff was unacceptable. I’m considering reporting this place to the business authorities.

There are few Portuguese pastry shops downtown and this one, despite being more current, is one of them.
Well situated, with a good terrace, modern and functional, with breakfast menus, bread and the expected sweets.
Orders for the terrace are made and paid for at the counter but served at the table.
I ordered my traditional short coffee (Italian) and a croissant, which turned out to be a super dry brioche and not at all traditional from the city of Porto. How I miss my buttery pastries!
Notice. The table was cleaned before the order was brought to me, but I found it in bad taste that the rubbish, instead of being placed on the cloth or in the vandeja, was simply thrown onto the floor and onto the surrounding chairs, which, of course, were left empty. to clean.

Good place for breakfast. Good value for money.

A wonderful cafeteria. They serve top-quality coffee and the sweets are finger-licking good. Nothing expensive. Two coffees, a muffin and cream cake €3.10. It was lucky to find it.

Good and cheap! It has several breakfast options, for different tastes and appetites; I opted for the most basic one, the bread is very good, the price is hard to beat. It has a terrace where you can eat and enjoy the sun.
