We stumbled across this cute little restaurant in a side street while walking back to our hotel from a long day out. Very unassuming from the outside and down a few steps into a small basement area. It only had 6 tables and 5 of those were reserved so we took that as a good sign and snapped up the last table. The hosts were friendly and welcoming and provided us with swift and efficient service . We started with bread , oil and olives and then we both had the cod on a bed of spinach with small roast potatoes. The piece of cod was huge and well cooked . To drink we shared some sparkling water and a lovely bottle of vinho verde. The total bill was a very reasonable €60. We normally look ahead at reviews of restaurants especially in touristy areas such as Porto and then make a reservation, but on this occasion we took a chance and were not disappointed.

The owners provided amazing service and the food was unbelievable. Make sure to book a table outside for the best experience. Everything was outstanding, but the stuffed mushroom appetizer and octopus stood out. No trip to Porto should skip this gem!

Giving it a one star review is a lot, if you want to ruin your night in Porto go to this place. We actually didn’t have the chance to eat because the manager/waiter didn’t let us sit 3 times for 2 days, on the first day the first time he told us that he doesn’t have space, the second time he told us that he is closing eventhough there were full tables. The other day he didn’t want to sit us by saying that he cannot sit 5 people and lied that we have to make a reservation eventhough he didn’t even mention it the day before, then my friend tried to talk with him he became very rude and started talking with attitude.We really liked the place and the vibe, but the staff were miserable!

Can't fault this restaurant. The owner is an amazing man. He opened a bottle of pinot noir for me that was not on the menu. The food was the best we had in 5 weeks in portugal. Great setting also

After seeing a recent forum post about this restaurant I was intrigued. Happily got a response in two days to my request for a reservation. (Message on Facebook) They have a few tables inside and outside and are only open Thursday-Sunday. The owners were our attentive servers, warm and friendly, but gave us space. They love to explain the food and preparation even when busy. We shared some olives and the brie in filo dough for starters. My husband had the octopus which he said was the best prepared he had anywhere. I had the veal cheeks which were like butter. Even the sides were perfectly prepared. All desserts are made in house. I had chocolate mousse as good as any I had in Paris, maybe better. Hubbie had almond torte with vanilla ice cream. Although there are plenty of people passing by, it’s on a relatively quiet street- with steps. Tables are on the steps- like little platforms. View of Clerigos Tower to top it off. Our only regret is that we won’t be able to return before we leave Porto.

Although busy, the owner went out of his way to find us a table. My wife and I had a brilliant meal. We went out of our way to order the full menu as each course was superb. It was reasonably priced, the service was friendly and they took the time to tell us some more information about the food and the area. This was favourite meal in Porto which is a tall ask considering there’s so many great places to eat here!
