We had a dinner in Ode, and the experience was fantastic, and very unique.
To enter, you have to use a knocker to be allowed inside, and when seated, you are greeted with a welcome letter, which is very interesting, and not seen in any places that I have visited.
The interior is also very nice, with little lighting, and just stone and wood, making a very simple style.
The food was outstanding. Although the menu is quite small, the dishes are all amazingly made, with the meat and octopus tender, and the chickpeas made with bacon.
There is also a very large wine selection, which offers a large variety (as the wine menu is considerably larger than the food menu).
The staff are extremely friendly, greeting you, explaining the food options, checking for allergens, explaining the wine choice, and more.
The prices are very high, however, if possible, it is definitely a place worth visiting, for the food—and equally as much for the experience.

In the middle of te most touristy part of Porto we found this peaceful and very friendly restaurant. A fine dining experience. Creative style with very fresh fish and an excellent, very well stocked, wine collection. Good advice. Some of the simplest dishes were just delicious. Broccoli and almons were such a surprise. And we had a hard time choosing between the octopus and fish of the day. A must visit when you are in Porto.. or even make a trip to taste this.

The treatment is rough Don't go to this restaurant Very expensive They don't know how to treat a visitor Avoid this restaurant They don't know to treat a visitor
We were the first ones here so there wasn’t anyone here yet.
The oysters / pasta negra and broccoli all excellent starters
The ribs and the octopus are very good
I would avoid the steak. the portion is small and it’s average.

A particularly romantic restaurant. Great atmosphere, very high and professional service. Mediocre food and very expensive prices.

Really excellent cooking that was strong on details. You could tell everything was extremely thought through. We had oysters which the sommelier paired with an albarinho which made for one of my favourite mouthfuls of food and drink that I've ever eaten. Broccoli came with a homemade sauce of almond milk and a soffrito with pickled stems and it was simple ingredients elevated by a good idea and technique.
Every other dish was similarly simple and really well executed.
Service was great. They dealt with a couple of difficult customers well. The place maybe struggles with being really quite sophisticated but located in a centre of mass tourism.
Honestly, a great restaurant.

Restaurantji Recommends
We stumbled across this restaurant wandering through the river district in Porto. Our intentions were to stop in for a glass of wine and tapas. We were told (in the kindest, professional way) the restaurant is a dinner establishment, and were invited to make a reservation for another day.
This was heeded advice. After making a reservation, any ideas of what this dining experience would be like were blown out of the water. The food, wine, staff and ambience all are top-notch. It was our first time trying a white port (excellent!) and the other wine recommendations from the sommelier were excellent. The experience was so good, we came back a second time on our trip. And I am not a repeat diner.
Make a reservation, do order the bread, and enjoy. Thank you all so much for two very memorable evenings!

Rustic but refined place, absolutely exceptional food, excellent quality wines recommended by a competent and helpful sommelier. The service deserves special mention, attentive, friendly and always punctual. Unfortunately for all of us, quality has a price.

The atmosphere, the food and the service of ODE were great and unique. Unfortunately, after being served bread, butter and a bottle of wine, main courses took 1:30h.
At the end, the owner came to our table and apologized for the issue in the kitchen that delayed our mains, which I thought was a great gesture. He then proceeded to serve a desert on the house (for four people). In my opinion, could have been one desert per person or at least one desert and coffees for everybody, considering the profile of the restaurant, and the fact that we waited patiently till fairly late.
I would give ODE another chance due to its calming atmosphere and kind service, and would recommend it due to the quality of the food.

Wow is all I can say. We expected great food based on the recommendation we received about dining here. What I didn’t expect was the attentive owner and staff and their incredible collective knowledge of local wines and regional dishes. The food was delicious and I highly recommend the Tripas a moda do Porto - incredible!!! (And I was hesitant to eat tripe.). We were steered towards two very unique regional wines— white and red bottles— and couldn’t have been more pleased with how well they paired with the dishes. We were first offered a pour to confirm that we agreed with the selection and felt no pressure to accept them. I particularly appreciated the opening advice on being a respectful and engaged diner. It made us feel like we were dining in someone’s home. Advise you to make reservations and go. You won’t be disappointed!
