We visited twice during our visit to Portugal and both times we were greeted with fantastic food and a brilliant host. The first time we visited was for my father’s 70th birthday and they made an effort for the occasion with free glasses of bubbly and truly brilliant food. Two of my party had the lamb and the other the duck, the meat was well cooked and melt in the mouth. If you’re hungry I would recommend getting a starter!
Thank you for a truly great experience, we were having a bit of a bad day due to other events and this turned things around for us.
The second visit we opted for the scallops, followed by the veal, lamb and pork. Each dish was once again brilliant, the scallops were a touch over but it was made up for by the wonderful host who was full of conversation. The desserts were also lovely (choc cake!). Thank you for a wonderful dining experience and please give our thanks to our waiter who is a true asset to your restaurant.

Yesterday, on our first night in Porto, we had the opportunity to have dinner at Raíz, and the truth is that we were delighted with the choice. Very cozy place, with spectacular attention from the service (they explained the specialties to us taking into account that we came from outside) and a very complete menu. We recommend the cod fritters, the risotto (incredible) and the dulce de leche fondant. All this paired with a local wine, it couldn't be better. Highly recommended.
