My favorite person and I recently visited this restaurant on a friend's recommendation. Unlike typical local spots, it had a modern feel, like a hidden gem. With limited seating, reservations are recommended. The place seemed family-run, with an amazing wife handling the front of the house effortlessly and her husband in the kitchen.
We ordered the homemade sausage, which had a soft texture I wasn't used to, but the flavor was incredible. The bread variety was also great. Our main dish, TRIPAS, was a must-try and did not disappoint. The fresh ingredients, beans, tripas, pork meat, and soft bone were delicious. I wished for more meat and tripas because it was so delicious! The dish, served with white rice, was delightful, although I preferred a bowl to avoid wasting any sauce.
The couple was very accommodating, providing a bowl and spoon upon request. We paired the meal with a good white wine and finished with two desserts: a humorous "Bacon from the Sky," which was like an egg tart, and a lemon pie. Both were fantastic.
With only a few days left in Porto, I might return to try the pork shank and French fries that looked amazing.

Traditional Portuguese cuisine of very good quality. Most of the dishes come from northern Portuguese recipes and are all prepared to a level of excellence. Everything is good from the appetizers to the dessert. Very careful service and typical hospitality from the north of Portugal. It's always worth coming back!

Restaurant with wonderful food, we ate tripas in the Porto style, extraordinary and francesinha in puff pastry, excellent too. And the dessert was delicious. In addition to the friendliness of the people who served us. I recommend.

I ate beans which they call tripe, I asked for more tripe and we were given no more meat. The second time the same thing happened again. I do not recommend this restaurant.

Restaurantji Recommends
A very welcoming restaurant, with good presentation reminiscent of antiquity, including antique pieces, but very cold. We even asked to move tables further away from the door and were refused. It was advised to eat the francesinha with puff pastry and in relation to the same, on the menu they wrote that it is the 1st francesinha, for me, I think they should rethink the creation of the 1st francesinha with puff pastry, it is tasty, yes, but it looks more like a crepe like a Frenchie. It lacks height (perhaps ingredients), the traditional cheese on top for example, not to mention that we all like a lot of sauce on our francesinhas and there was a mug for two and a mug of fries for two... for the price (13.50 no egg) no sauce no potatoes I thought the price was very high for a crepe. The service was good, the ladies were very quick (it's rare to have a service like that) with good customer service, apart from the fact that we couldn't change tables and spend lunch cold.I do recommend visiting, despite these cons because what for me is negative for you may be nothing...

I went with some expectations to the Pombeiro restaurant because of the good opinions that are popular here, and unfortunately I chose the codfish, the worst choice I could have made, not that the codfish was poorly cooked, but a steak for one person for €22. , which wasn't worth more than €12 to be nice, when we were told that what was served would be a cod fillet (6cm expected) and not a cod fin (3cm at the highest part). Very weak for the asking price. I don't recommend it and I won't be returning.
