Something a little different! A must for Cider and Real Ale drinkers who like to eat meat!!! Don’t be deceived by the exterior of the restaurant it’s ambient and full of amazing props and memorabilia. Michael the host is spot on in al aspects of his business, attention to detail and a niche theme have placed him right up there in almost 1900 restaurants in Porto. The food is a Tapas based meat extravaganza, Wild Boar, Venison and Steak feature highly on the menu, if you’re a veggie this ain’t the place for you! Based around a Celtic theme with a cross between heavy metal and folk music but don’t let the music put you off! 100/100 for an enjoyable evening! Top Tips….. don’t order too many platers! They’re very filling ?
We had a really great time for our first experience there! The service was friendly (by everyone) and the food was really tasty!
24/6/22 Saturday evening drinks and snack later - Porto - R Sidraria Celta 5/5 10 pics We three British guys were meeting a Hungarian friend for the first time in Porto where we were staying coincidentally. I chose a local bar but it was inexplicably closed when we three arrived, at the 18:00 appointment, so had to change our rendezvous bar. A lot of hunting on-line GglMaps and TA reviews later I went ahead of my friends to suss out what was open on a Friday evening. I arrived at SC at about 18:30 to find the owner at the front door, cleaning the restaurant as it was just opening. I asked for a menu which she provided and I checked it out. I had no idea what was inside from the narrow facade but it looked inviting. It was there that the owner told me of the holiday situation: It was actually the Friday after a lot of bars had been up celebrating Thursday's Sao Paoa (St John the Baptist) so this Friday was a holiday apparently so many places were closed. They were open though. Hurrah! I explained our situation and left. I returned to my friends to convince them that this was the only option and it was very well reviewed on TA. They reluctantly joined me and returned to it by 18:50. Our Hungarian friend was very late and still on his way so I messaged him about the new rendezvous location adding a selfie of the facade. We three made our way in and were ushered to the far back of the very long bar (a few people drinking in it) to go up some steps and into the back garden! A couple of guys were drinking in the covered (smoking) space so we chose an open table. The waitress presented as with a substantial drinks menu with a very long list of local and international craft and mainstream beers and ciders. Some had tasting notes and/or origin stories. Prices were for 'pints' or 'half pints' (obviously 500/250ml). We were quite overwhelmed but ultimately just wanted a Portuguese beer as most of the beers are available in London anyway. We chose a couple of beers and after a bit of messaging to our friends (who was lost) I had to leave to meet him near another totally different bar!! We returned to order him a white wheat beer too. See pictures of our toasting and the bill. The drinks menu had been updated the day before so they obviously have a turnaround of beers available. The one I am posting is six months out of date but one gets the idea! With such a selection the beers are not cheap but it was a treat and we were meeting our friend for the first time in years. The beers were very good though. We were asked if we wanted to eat but we declined as we were being shown round by our friend the 'old town' where he knew some restaurants. The barmaid seemed rather disappointed that we were not eating at SC. It was not very busy at that time. We paid the €13.50 for the four beers and left. It did look very nice inside. It turned out our friend hadn't a clue about the old town let alone the restaurants. We ate in Trinkas a modern restaurant in the new town (reviewed separately) which was fine. After he left us, to return home early, we three were still hungry and thirsty. We passed by our original rendezvous pub which was open! We decided to return to this bar (SC) for a late snack and then back to our original gay bar for a late drink. We arrived at 22:45 to the surprise of our hosts and took a table at the front. By then the restaurant/bar was busier with a group at a nearby table acting out a jousting and hunting scene! It was all quite atmospheric too so we ordered another pint of local craft wheat beer each and decided a tapas style snack would be a tomato based one - Cogumelos tomate. We were toasting by 22:56 and our simple dish arrived eight minutes later. It was served on a wooden plate, piping hot and very tasty, just what we needed and very different from Trinkas. Whilst we were waiting we admired the decor which was a mixture of signs, pictures and artefacts, mostly Celtic of course. Eventually we had to leave so ordered the bill which arrived about 23:44, paid the €25.70 by card plu
We went there for dinner and had a really fun night. Great music playing, very extensive list of ciders, beers and meads from around the world and very good food as well, for all types of eaters. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming and if you like the theme of the restaurant you will feel right at home. Try the casin cheese on the charcuterie board , it's really tasty. Wishing the owner best of luck with Wacken tickets in the future :) greetings from Hamburg
Found by lucky accident. Great food and massive drinks list. Nice large garden area. Very fun atmosphere with crazy Scottish punk folk on sound system. Instant friends with the owner: she is a Celtic encyclopedia!
You can't miss this place if you want a proper visit to Porto. The warm welcoming is only bested by the impressive celtic gastronomy with products from Asturies, Ireland, Breizh, Scotland... You have to experience this by yourselves, honestly. Besides the ambient is so friendly and chill.
This is somewhere you might pass by if you just looked at the front, but bear with it and head through to the beer garden. Great atmosphere but above all great food if tapas is your thing this is the place for you. We had five different plates and they were all excellent. Good wines too but the friendly owners actually specialise in craft beers and ciders. Genuinely a revelation and definitely in the list to revisit next time we are in Porto.
What a lovely restaurant, so friendly and the food was great. Would recommend pork in red wine and the meat with cheese. But all the food we had was good
I would give this place 6 stars if i could! Good: - tapas style food with a unique feel and taste. - selection of vegetarian friendly options. - beers - the fine selection of Irish and Scottish punk/rock songs Exceptional: - the staff was so friendly. Never met them before and we ended sharing drinks at together at the end of the evening. - fantastic legit meads - more cider options than you can dream off
We found this place by doing a search for restaurants nearby where we were staying, and decided we would give it a try on our first night in Porto. We walked along pretty empty streets and when we found the restaurant, we were a little nervous because we didn‘t see guests seated inside. Nonetheless, we were there after our walk to find it so we went in thinking we would be the only ones there. I was introduced to who I believe they said was the owner, or manager, and she was literally wearing armor. Being a fan of cosplay, this was a good sign, and I knew this was going to be some kind of adventure in dining. Our hostess very kindly gestured to go up a set of stairs where they were seating people in the back and up to a lovely rooftop garden area where tomato plants are nestled in pots, greenery abounds, and the place was actually packed! to one side I could see a good sized tent with about two or three dozen guests under the many strings of lights adorning the area. Not only was it lively and a romantic setting, but there was Celtic music being played by an Irish duo. Granted, it wasn‘t Portuguese music, but it was loads of fun to see something so delightful and unexpected. The staff were all very kind and helped us choose some of the available tapas style foods. the Scottish Eggs were delicious and incredibly rich (perhaps a bit salty as well). Prices for food and drink were both very reasonable. The food was good but the most memorable takeaway for me was the ambiance and the live Irish music I had not expected. Porto is kind of a walking city so I have no idea about parking nearby. No reservation was required and overall it was one of the more memorable nights we enjoyed in the city. Restaurante Celta Endovélico was a truly enjoyable experience, and I highly recommend it if you‘re looking for something unique and memorable in the city.

Very nice staff members. Especially the new girl, but the restaurant owner was also very kind. The stew meat was very good. We'd enjoy our evening in this pub/restaurant. Definitely would visit again.
You really feel at home at Endovélico. The staff greats you with a big smile and great spirits every time. The food is not the traditional portuguese food but it is delicious, with an unique variety of celtic dishes that will make you eat until the last bite. And last but not least, the beers and siders are the speciality! You can find a wide variety from all the corners of Europe.
