The meal was not great. We arrived for lunch at 1 p.m. The owners were at the table and looked at you with a sigh because you wanted to eat. Never seen before... they don't need to work. Go your way. There are nicer restaurants afterwards.

We found it while walking because we wanted to try homemade food that was typical, a guy helped us, we asked him for the menu and he looked stunned, we ordered a francesinha (not recommended here) and clams (very good but they had some sand).At first they gave us bread and olives, thinking that they were not going to charge us, in the end it turned out that they charged us €2 and €2.70 respectively.The service left a lot to be desired, slow and sometimes they didn't know what we were asking for.I would not go back.
Delicious charcoal grilled sardines in an atmospheric local restaurant- the sardines were perfectly cooked and incredibly tasty - the actual grilling took place outside on an open barbecue wafting the mouth watering aroma into the air…. Which was what originally attracted us. The total cost for 2 plates with 3 large sardine each plus potatoes and salad garnish, and a small beer plus very full glass of vinho verde was just 25 euros, amazing value. Service was nicely done, but all in Portuguese, with allowances for foreigners! Highly recommended (and completely at odds with many other reviews, which seem unfair- we don’t usually eat in restaurants with less than 4 on google and this restaurant deserves a much higher average score)

A lovely spot to eat with no fuss traditional food. Try the Francesinha - delicious and it will fill you for the day. It is not a tourist trap and it seems to be where a lot of locals eat.The only thing to note - I found service a bit slow. This is not a bad thing, I just say this because I had a tour booked that I had to run to after. But the whole experience was very relaxing!
