Today, Monday for lunch only, the options were cod fillets or sardines with greens rice, there was also pinky cutlet with white rice. The owner Mr Pedro and his daughter D.Mariana serve with some good humor in Porto fashion. This is a place on Rua do Bonjardim in front of Rua do Paraiso, which is typically traditional.I would say yes, I would recommend it and I would come back this time a little sooner :)

Expensive for the quantity and I was surprised by the negative opinion about smoking inside. There would be no need for any arguments between father and daughter…

Fantastic food and atmosphere. It's a restaurant that is actually someone's home, which we have the privilege of being invited to enter. Proper Portuguese snacks, a fish soup that you can eat and cry for more, super tasty octopus pataniscas, and wonderful homemade desserts

If you're looking for a Michelin-style dining experience, this place might not be for you. It is a genuine tavern, run directly by its owner and his daughter, who offer a service full of humanity and sincerity just as if you were in the house of a good friend. The food is homemade, without pretensions or elaborate presentations, but stands out for its exceptional flavor. For me, it represents an oasis in the midst of all the hype. It's just eat and enjoy

Very nice experience! The food is good, plentiful and homemade! The “a vitela” beef is very tasty and melts in your mouth. The boss is welcoming and comes to present the menu to you in person. The waitress is very pleasant and welcoming and makes sure to adapt to all languages (French, English, Portuguese).A beautiful warm, family, friendly place, absolutely worth trying!

We had dinner on a Saturday with a Porto full of tourism. Finding this site has been a gift. Pleasant, comfortable, authentic, with some definitive detail such as the bell, honest and tasty food. Anyway, I have read much more detailed reviews of which I share everything. Portugal in its purest form. Long live Tavern Dom Castro!
