“Casal Minhoto is an excellent option for a quality meal in the good Portuguese way. In addition to being one of the few restaurants in Póvoa de Santa Iria, it is a restaurant full of quality.
The last time we were there it was full and they gave us a 40 minute wait and accepted our name on the list. They handed us the menu and we were able to place our order before sitting down.
We ordered cockles, with toasted bread and garlic butter on the side, which was great, and fried turbot with greens rice.
The turbot came to the point of frying and seasoning. The rice is super naughty. The waiter served all three of us, which made a great difference to the service.
We had difficulty finishing the turbot that says in the menu it was for 2 people, but it served and there were leftovers for the three of us.
We didn't order desserts this time so I can't comment.
The friendliness of all the employees keeps us coming back.
Anyone who visits will certainly be well served.
Vegetarian options: I saw vegetarian options like fish from the garden.
Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp at the door that is somewhat inclined but not very long.“

“A restaurant with excellent table service. The food is very well prepared, the service is very quick and both the space and the kitchen are always immaculate. Quality/price ratio is excellent! With this way of working and being, you deserve to always be full! They have all the quality for it! I recommend it without any restrictions!“

“If you like eating fish, don't miss coming to this restaurant. Fish arrives from Sesimbra, which then goes for treatment, leaving those who eat this food sensitized. Everything is well served with great friendliness and a price that leaves your wallet far from empty.“
“Wonderful food. We have been here several times, and have had both Ukrainian and Portuguese dishes. The daily specials are great; today I had a huge serving of seafood rice, absolutely delicious! My husband loves the Ukrainian food, a taste of home.“

“Waiting time to get a table was over 30m, and we were at the restaurant at 1pm, other than that the food was good and well prepared, I recommend the veal tenderloins with shrimp and fried mountain, the portion is enough for 2 pax for 25e, sawdust like dessert was also good. Typical Portuguese restaurant“

“We had dinner several days, a place close to the hotel area, and both the food and the service were excellent.
Thanks to Diogo, who attended to us both days, and was very kind and attentive.
Without a doubt a very good option, also for the price.“

“Yes this was really good! Food delicious and special. The cucumber dessert, to name just a few. Glasses of wine from 6 euros.
Carafes of water free. The four of us lost 160 euros. You have to go here. And I don't say that often.“

“Taken by friends, as I was unfamiliar with the place, it proved to be a gastronomic surprise, despite the noise not allowing for large conversations. Without ever reaching the stratospheric limit of "divine", the small restaurant served dishes of good, honest and unpretentious Portuguese food. The only negative note for the creamed milk, floured and with few eggs, which could have been something from a packet. A shame, because the burnt sugar topping was delicious.“

“We ate the most delicious meals here. The pulled pork prego was so tender and tasty. Prawn and mango salad great for a hot day. A good spot for young kids too! Beautiful atmosphere inside the restaurant with great service. I highly recommend eating here!“

“10/10 experience. If you’re questioning whether or not to go, don’t, just go. The 10 course tasting (really 14 with desserts) was SO tasty and affordable. Our server was a standout as well. They connected with each table, clearly cared if you were enjoying your experience, was attentive but not overbearing, and had an overall great presence and energy. I would definitely go again!“

“We went on time for the Bolinhos de Bacalao and they are really good and at a good price, with a sauce that accompanies it great, they served us well. Access is not easy, there is no car and it is on a steep slope with the ground somewhat slippery, but it is worth it.
Parking: There is no parking nearby
Kid-friendliness: Yeah

“I was attracted by the favorable comments. I've already gone back and the three Bs are confirmed (if you want to know what it's all about, you'll have to go there). Food well prepared and presented on the plate, fast and friendly service, very affordable price. Varied and delicious desserts. Despite being very popular, the atmosphere is peaceful.
Wheelchair accessibility: Terrace and dining room at sidewalk level.“

“Anyone who loves good food is indifferent to good service... It's been a long time since we've had an experience of this kind: flavor, quality, empathy, friendliness, rigor! We entered and felt that we were very well received... but everything else, these days, is just a unique experience! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for making small moments of pleasure into giant memories!! If we come back? Oh yes, we will definitely be back!! And with friends, for whom we want the best!! Quality food and luxury service ❤️Mr. João, Nuno, the whole Family: they are the greatest!! Now let's "burn calories" through the streets of Lisbon!!Thank you very much!Marisa and Mario“

“Very warm welcome, also speaks French. Excellent dishes, fried cod as well as the highest quality Iberian pork that I have been able to eat so far, after 10 days on Portuguese territory. An excellent wine from the Douro Valley in the glass. Decent dessert. Excellent value. I highly recommend“

“Restaurant in the lower part of the Alfama neighborhood. Small but charming. Good fish, although we have tried better in Lisbon in similar restaurants. We did not make a reservation and had to wait 50 minutes. Very friendly waiters. Card payment is not allowed. Recommendable.“

“Totally family-friendly place where you will eat very fresh grilled fish. Homemade food 100x100
You share the same table with other customers.
I recommend it, if you are going to eat delicious, cheap, and go somewhere else to have an after-dinner meal.
The only downside is that you come out smelling like charcoal... but it made up for me because of how good the food was.“

“A great little discovery 3 minutes walk from Rossio.
The place is small, but they serve you right away, be sure to order the Entrecosto a brasa and the bacalhau a brás, they are exquisite and the bacalhau plate is perfect for sharing.
The prices are more than reasonable and are far away (luckily) from the tourist traps around Dom Pedro IV Square.
If they have the house dessert available, order it, you will lick the spoon or repeat.
A success of place, without a doubt.“

“Typical Lisbon bar. The place is small, if you like privacy it is not your place, we were comfortable, but they put some Spanish girls in the middle of a table of 6. But it is one of the best I have been to, quality-price, what we ordered, everything was very good , especially the ribs. I had heard that it is normal in Portugal for them to give you tapas even if you have asked for them. Here we had it on the table, but I returned one (without touching it of course) and without a problem, they didn't charge it. Very good white wine sangria“

“A restaurant on the new avenues of Lisbon, with a neighborhood atmosphere, without tourists, where Portuguese is spoken.
Great service, typical Portuguese food very well prepared. Partridge game dishes were a delicacy.
I recommend.“

“Amazing view if you can get the seat by the window I recommend it! Great food! We went at the end of the night so they were out of several options but that shows us that their food is fresh each day and little food carries over to the next day! Even then we had delicious meals and they accommodated some dietary restrictions and questions with kindness. The prices are SUPER reasonable and we will definitely come here again to try the ramen next time! Thank you! ????“

“This place is a gem! We needed a place near the airport and were lucky enough to find this establishment. The food was delicious and the proprietor was so welcoming. If we are ever near the Lisbon airport again, I will make sure to stop here again!“

“It feels like a restaurant frequented by locals. It really tastes like Seabeth.
Have lunch and come back in the evening.
It's much more delicious here than the tourist patch restaurants in the city. I want to try everything, but it's a shame.
You don’t speak English, but you are kind.“

“Memorable dinner at Beco a Sério. Tucked in a courtyard off a pedestrian street in the hills of Lisbon, a pleasant change from summer crowds and bustle. We were made to feel welcome and were able to enjoy well made top quality starters, main courses (both seafood and meat options were great), desserts, and nice wines. Small-ish place with maybe ten tables.“

“Delicious food, very friendly service, takes care of guests at a high level. The dishes were served very quickly, about 15 minutes of waiting for the main course. “The best steak I've had on my whole trip! If you're a steak lover, don't miss this spot. We also got a bottle of the red wine blend Dao which was delightful (dry yet rich).
They were accommodating to my food sensitivities and I'll probably go back tomorrow for another steak!“

“A prime location but difficult to park.
We ordered house steaks and it was delicious, nothing to write home about.
The place is beautiful and elegant.
The employees are professionals, perhaps the only thing I want to point out is that I wanted to be talking to the person in front of me and the employee kept “talking” a little beyond what was comfortable, I had to ask him to “go away” which added to the feeling of the night.
Shortly afterwards, at the next table, there was a family and the same waiter creating the same discomfort towards them, so they were also asked to let them eat/be “in peace”.
I would also like to add that the employee smelled a lot of tobacco, which made it difficult for us to have him by our side.
Despite this occurrence, the dinner experience was wonderful. A place to visit.“

“Rosa da Rua was an incredible experience and one of our favorite dining experiences in Lisbon (we couldn't stop talking about the food our entire trip). The atmosphere was very charming. We made a reservation in advance, which we would recommend doing as this is a busy dinner spot. Magnificent food and service! Hoping to return one day.“

“I just left the restaurant and frankly it was exceptional. The service was worthy of a 5 star hotel. A waitress who spoke French served us impeccably and even explained to us the composition of the dish etc… The food was excellent, nothing to say. Go for it!!!! Good value for money. Special mention for the DJ who set a very good atmosphere with very good music, the transitions between each music were perfect and the playlist was perfect too. Well done to her ??“

“Restaurant with very tasty food, from starters (with history) to desserts, very friendly and attentive staff, but what stood out most was the attention the team paid to the details in our service. Cozy space, very complete wine list. We will come back and recommend.“

“Fantastic place to dine in Lisbon! :)
A remarkable and very interesting wine list.
Its owner couldn't be nicer, it was a very pleasant night to dine there and listen to her recommendations. The food is very very delicious! You can see the love they put into the restaurant.
I would repeat every time I am in Lisbon, without hesitation!“

“The owner is the maitre d’. He is friendly and accommodating. He knows his food allergens very well and also his wines. An excellent white port to start too. The dates and bacon for starter were exquisite and the steaks with sauce O Arco was sooo tender. We went back the next night and would have gone again if the holiday had been longer.“

“Good service, the outdoor area has a nice view on the river, and the food was fresh and overall very good.
Not the same typical Portuguese food you would expect: The menu has enough variety of fish and meat dishes that you wouldn't normally find elsewhere. There are a few vegetarian options as well.“

“Excellent homemade food. Upon entering we were very well received, preferring to stay inside the restaurant. Always eat. Present friendliness, I found it really funny that you asked me if I wanted a bib!!! I LOVED!!!
They recommended cod à Lagareiro and grilled emperor fish!
The fish was delicious and the vegetables too. Hats off to the cod as it tasted just like my grandmother's!!!! Real, desalted cod! The potatoes were well seasoned and the green beans were delicious, just like the ones I used to eat without chemicals!!!! Congratulations to the team that made me relive the past! The interior space is a little “scary” although it has good decoration!
Thanks for the experience!“

“Small but very welcoming restaurant, with a terrace on the street, impeccable staff with super affable and friendly service, excellent quality food, not to mention the value for money... at lunch the menu is €10 with soup, main course, drink, dessert and coffee, all great and tasty! My chicken steak with cream and Portuguese-style pork were very good! Quality traditional Portuguese food is really worth it!“

“Average price for a two course meal + drink is 25+ eur, (much more expensive than what google says 10-15 eur)
Food is delicious, the service is good.
My rate is less than 5 only because it was too hot inside the restaurant.“

“Great drinks, great food, great ambiance on the rooftop with a friendly staff.
Few misc notes:
- Staff speaks English well
- The tiny elevator can only really hold one person (it’s the oldest running private residence elevator?). I’d recommend taking the stairs if you are able, it is only 3 flights
- They accept cash or card
- Rooftop is associated with the hotel+hostel, so folks staying there get one free drink, but this drink is limited to a selection of drinks“

“We ate here twice, both times the service and food were excellent! The staff was so welcoming and prepared the food with care and expertise. They were so accommodating, they prepared a big salad on our request as we hadn't had a salad for a while and needed some greens. Thank you for such wonderful food. ?“

“Cozy but relatively small place. If you are not early, I recommend making a reservation. Friendly staff and always attentive to table requests. Servings are generous and 1 serving can be shared between an adult and a small child. There are also the most common ice creams from Hello for sale: cornetos, magnus, calipos, etc.“

“Had dinner last night with 4 people. We enjoyed several starters (oysters, green beans in tempura, cod fritters and potato chips with skin) and main courses (seared tuna with sweet potato purée, cod a bras, golden cod and octopus on a bed of sweet potatoes), all excellent . Really great beer and sangria. The desserts are also tasty (biscuit cake and brownies with caramel). Very friendly and helpful service with tourists. Very pleasant place both inside and outside.
Very recommended.“

“This is a really fun and exciting place to try! The seafood taco was such an awesome flavour bomb. Really great flavours overall. It has a loud and busy energy which made service a little slow at times. We are usually very easygoing guests which sometimes leads to slower service as those who demand more receive it. But overall the staff seemed really excited and worked as a great team! If we were staying longer would definitely come back to try more. Might recommend eating outside if you'd like it a bit quieter.“

“For now, I'm not giving 5 * on everything, as I've only visited O Boss, here in Póvoa de Santa Iria twice, and the one in Pirescoxe, I've lost count of it, and I'm still analyzing and seeing the differences.
But I think you're on the right track, just keep going ????“
