“Came on the recommendation of a Portuguese friend. Wondered if we were in the correct place from the exterior but once we entered it was clear we were in a lovely setting. Pretty empty on the evening we came the staff were attentive and helpful. We enjoyed a totally delicious meal. More pricy than most of our suppers in Lisbon but well worth the expense. We are told the restaurant recently changed owners but that the chef and staff are the same. An excellent place for a special meal out.“

“Phenomenal food, and kind service. Great local restaurant. We had a traditional full meal, and it was well made, high quality ingredients, and very memorable. Highly recommend!
Parking: Communal lot that is about two blocks away.

“When was the last time you went to a restaurant and had the chance to taste wine before ordering, where in a meeting with the owner you had to discuss recipes, wines and olive oils? Where was the care taken to treat you as more than just customers?
It all started with a web search and comments that Taverna dos Conjurados had closed because they "had retired". I went looking for the space and found the owner doing some exterior renovations and informing me that they were only open on weekends and operated by appointment. I made an appointment for the following night (Friday).
The Renaissance fair took away our appetite, but we ordered a salad as a starter.
This was followed by sirloin steaks with apple puree and wild rice and duck magret where I swapped the fried potatoes for rice. The flavors matched perfectly and the wine complemented it. Curiosity for the description of Manjar das Chagas made us order dessert. We also ordered cream cheese sweets....
It was a very well spent dinner where the combination of flavors was perfect.
From us, thank you very much.“
“Friday lunch, got there early at 12:00. Very pleasant outside area to sit in. Great service, good food - I had fish with potatoes and salad, all very fresh and well presented. My husband had lamb chops, they were excellent. The cheesecake was really good and chocolate mousse too. With bread and olives, a glass of wine, 4 beers, bottle of water and a coffee the bill was 52 euros. Will definitely return.“

“We were returning to Spain but we wanted to eat some migas from Alentejo because they are famous. Searching we ended up in this place, where we ordered the crumbs (only crumbs because we were on a budget at the end of the trip). Even though we sat at a table just to order some crumbs, they treated us better than anywhere I have ever been. Furthermore, they gave us the best crumbs in the history of Portugal and they never complained that we only ordered that. Like nowhere really here, if you are lucky enough to end up here, I congratulate you.“

“Great!! We went several times, for lunch and dinner, during our vacation in Vila Viçosa. The team is always friendly and cheerful, the atmosphere pleasant and the food tasty. The shrimp pizza is incredible, as well as the asparagus omelette, the kebabs and the desserts (especially the 'Besides good', it's more than good).“
“Fantastic reason to visit the beautiful town of Vila Viçosa. Genuinely friendly staff whether you order a coffee or a full meal. Excellent menu with good vegetarian options. Very reasonably priced for the quality and presentation. Have taken various friends who now each describe it as 'our restaurant'. If you like lamb, the shank that they serve will delight you beyond expectation!
Vegetarian options: Good selection“

“A very traditional restaurant right next to the start of a Serra de Ossa trail, and how good it felt! As it was the first time we went, the owner explained the entire menu to us in the good Alentejo way, and there are many delicacies to choose from. We ate dogfish soup and lamb stew, two local delicacies. Reasonable prices, and friendliness is free.“
“First visit and would definitely go back. Good service at what is the busiest time of the year. Meal options were fairly priced - try the Portuguese swordfish - and very enjoyable. We ate outside which was great for 'people watching'!!“

“Very welcoming typical Alentejo restaurant. Homemade and very tasty food. We ordered fresh cheese, tomato soup with fried meat, tomato crumbs with fried meat and we finished with sericaia. Everything was delicious. The service was not the most friendly but it improved throughout the service. Small space, it is advisable to reserve.“
