Incredible 10/10 in every aspect. The cheeks were great and the crumbs surpassed them. I recommend it, and I will certainly return in the future.

Idyllic landscape, located in an idyllic location, flavors that can only be reproduced here and a service that only these people know how to provide. A big congratulations to D. Isabel and the rest of the team for the experience they provided us.

The food is very typical and good, everything else was disappointing and incorrect. They immediately served us the house starter and only while we were eating it they told us that they only had one main dish available, pork cheeks, which we had to accept so as not to remain on an empty stomach. The service was approximate, we were not asked if we wanted a dessert and at the time of the bill (cash only, without having been specified before) the prices of what we had eaten were not clear and it is likely that we paid more than we should have . Obviously, without a receipt.

Unfortunately we were unable to try the restaurant, but it wasn't for lack of desire or attempt on our part. We stayed 3 nights in Monsaraz. On the first night, we arrived at the restaurant around 9:20 pm, and there were 5 tables on the terrace still occupied, 4 or 5 tables already free, yet to be picked up. We went to the lady who was lifting trays from the tables, asking her if they were still serving, and she replied: "I can't afford to lift any more tables." Our first reaction was incredulity, thinking that the lady was just joking. She turned back, went to the kitchen and asked if there was anything left, to which she was told: "There isn't much left." "Yes, but I can't lift any more tables either.", was the final and definitive answer. It should be noted that the restaurant is supposedly open from 7:30 p.m. to
22:30h. We left the restaurant and went looking for an alternative.
The next day, after digesting the frogs caused by the previous night's treatment, we went back to work, calling at 7:30 pm, asking if there would be a table available for 2 people, for the same day. The lady who answered the phone replied that no, everything was already full. Before I could ask if it would be possible to book for the next day, he hung up on me.
I took a deep breath, let an hour and a half, two hours pass, and called back to try to reserve a table for the next day. The lady answered, said she would look, asked me not to hang up the phone, put the phone down, and, after 10 minutes of hearing dishes banging and cutlery rattling, I hung up and gave up.
The atmosphere seems to be very pleasant, the food is there, I didn't have the privilege of trying it. Regarding service, we had the experience described above.

Restaurant without a menu so you can check the prices of what you are consuming. When we arrived we were told that there were only two dishes. We were recommended two servings of cheeks for 4 because asking for one serving each would be too much, but very little food came. For drinks they told us that there was beer, water and juices. They didn't even mention the wines, which from what they say are expensive. Little option/variety, small doses.

The owner, although really charismatic, has had a very special and unique treatment. The selection of dishes is according to your choice and I must say that the food has been spectacular. Although he was confused when bringing them, he had no problem removing them with a smile. At checkout time, all the waitresses tell you to talk to the matriarch.

If you want to come out with a trauma come to this restaurant.
First of all, there is no menu, nor are there words to describe that lady stepping on the restaurant floor. We were vegetarians except me, and we ordered some migas and cod, when he brought us the plates he brought us 30kg of cheek and rice, when we refused the dish he started shouting and it could be heard from the castle of Monsaraz. The waitresses did literally nothing, if we wanted the bill, to the owner, if we wanted to deliver a dish, to the owner! Doña Isabel does everything! I wish I had that energy at his age, but the food is very good.

As always everything divine! In addition to the delicacies we are treated to, there is also friendly service! I strongly recommend it and I would add that you ignore the criticism, as it does not correspond to reality. One of the best restaurants in the country, without a doubt!

We've been to Monsaraz for holidays many years ago. The first time I tried to go to this restaurant I was immediately turned away at the door. I assumed it would be because she was a woman with two children.
After 8 years I decided to try again. I booked a week in advance and showed up at the restaurant 30 minutes before the appointment. With the restaurant empty, we were given a table in the second row of the view and people without reservations sat in the first row.
There is no menu...they say the dishes and that's it. They asked to choose the wine without even knowing what they were going to eat. At 34 degrees at night I asked about the temperature of the red wine, and was told that it would be under the air conditioning... whatever temperature it was.
The food is of good quality and well prepared, but I confess that I expected more from a place with such good reviews.
It was disappointing.

Nice view. Quality cuisine, very reasonable prices. A must-see in Monsaraz. You have to go there and book in advance.

Attention: this establishment forces customers (with reservation) to have lunch outside at 39c while acquaintances have lunch inside with air conditioning. To be avoided.

This is the first time I've posted a review and I think I should have read the other testimonials first.
No menu, no choice of dishes or prices, at the end of the meal we play predictions with my friend.
3 glasses of wine, 2 dishes, olives and chorizo for an aperitif with a bottle of sparkling water.
55 I say
My friend giggles, “but no, that’s too much” and says 40.
68.50... yes... the glass of wine is 7.50!!
Ask for the card or the prices absolutely
However, the dishes are delicious!!
We came with a terrible impression of the lady responsible for the space and her staff, they took a long time to serve and did not present a menu or wine list, we paid 20 euros for each bottle of wine considered house wine and the wine came already opened to the table, we were forced to stay on the terrace in the terrible heat, never to return.

Food simple but good. Prices for wine overpriced. €7.50 for a glass.
Simple ambience.
