The second time we went to eat and we had to wait a long time for a table to be given, but then everything went quite well, except that it was very hot and the umbrellas are not enough; in fact, the waiters were all sweating profusely. “The typical place you only go if you know it. Well, as a tourist I ended up here by chance and I can only recommend it to everyone. From the outside it is a bar, inside a shopping center so certainly not inviting. Instead it is full of locals who eat here and the reason is that it is delicious and cheap. With 10 euros per person you can eat a lot and be healthy. Burgers 4 euros, omelettes 5 (3 eggs) or 6 euros (with 4 eggs) approximately, desserts all under 2 euros. Coffee 80 cents. Chicken soup for 3.50 euros which alone can be a meal.The staff speaks English and is smiling, despite the peak crowd (1pm).Great advice! It's worth diverting your trip and having lunch here.”

“A very good deal if you are not looking for fancy. For under €16 you can choose whatever you want from the menu, which included sushi and chinese staples. The food arrived in less than 10 minutes, freshly made. The dishes could use a bit more sauce here and there but you have soy sauce and sweet and sour on your table. Friendly staff who speak English well. Had to pay in cash because their machine was broken but with €20 I still had a nice tip left for them.

“We had a great meal on our last night in the Azores. The entree was delicious with warm, crunchy tortilla chips, guacamole and dip sauce. The squid tacos were HOT! but great. Topped off with strawberry cream bonuelo morango & chocolate mouse. Overall we couldn’t fault any of the food & had a great experience. Very friendly, welcoming staff & extremely affordable.”

We finally got to eat in. The pizza was even better at the restaurant. Also had some excellent linguine w pesto. The owners make and serve the food and are very friendly. There are 4 small tables so make sure you call ahead.

All pizza shops around here were closed one day and we visited out of desperation. And boy are we glad we did. This is excellent pizza!!! ? We had take out and even after the drive home it was great. Can’t wait to go eat there soon.”

“We stopped here for a quick drink and snack but it quickly turned into an afternoon of conversation and good food. We had the best lapas on the island here! The owner knows what she’s doing and clearly cares about the food she serves. We also had a bifana with fries. Delicious. At the end of our meal the owner asked if we would like some corn that was fresh from a local farm. We couldn’t refuse and so glad we said yes. The corn was unbelievably sweet and delicious! Please don’t come here expecting a five star restaurant. This is a local bar run by wonderful people serving simple, fresh, delicious food. My only disappointment is that we didn’t make time to return for the lapas. Next time!”

Parking: You can park on the street, if it is full, there is a parking lot at the top of the hill which can hold a lot of cars. Don't worry if there are a lot of people, they are not necessarily at the restaurant, they are possibly at the beach.”
