“My family loved the location: we watched the waves from the „first row“, so to say. We had the daily fish (seabream), it was really good. Our friend had the omelets, she was happy. Sangrias good. But then when we wanted cakes a very unfriendly waitress came (until then we were served by a bit toothless but friendly guy) and in a very unfriendly way said no cakes and then in a very unfriendly way we got our coffees. I was kind of baffled by that. The bill was very high compare to other places.“

Deliciously grilled, soft, we feasted on a superb sea bream, a hearty and tasty plate. The bolo do caco at the beginning fresh from the wood-fired oven together with our traditional Poncha was divine. Then the picanha accompanied by 2 risottos (onion, beans and chorizo) was the highlight. We ordered it rare to our liking and it arrived that way. Then, at the end, the mousse clearly made in-house with hazelnuts on top was perfect, not to mention the always attentive service. I highly recommend it!“

“Very tasty homemade food, amazing service, lots of locals who eat here. Very affordable. It’s a kanteen with good food, you can choose between meat and fish plate. Plates are big and tasty. The service is fabulous, the lady saw us struggling a bit with our hungry and grumpy toddler and asked what can she eat outside of menu. In the end our daughter ate very tasty sandwich that wasn’t on the menu and as well her fish plate. Desserts are really nice as well. So much better than a street away with all the tourist places.“

“Giving 5 stars because it’s the only fully vegan restaurant in an island with very few vegan options. And the food was good! About 30 mins walk from the centre of Funchal, there was good variety on the menu and they have a nice patio. Server was friendly. We each tried a burger (there are two on the menu to choose from) and enjoyed them (not the best ever but still pretty good), and devoured the amazing fries. Smoothie was good. If they were open later we had would have been more than once for sure!“

The place was well attended, mostly by locals, which is usually a good sign. There is plenty of parking spots right next to the restaurant and you can sit outside or inside. The food was very tasty and the portions were huge. The prices are very fair.
Where the restaurant really shines is in the service, Lucio and his wife Isabel are very nice, hospitable and simply warm-hearted people!

“Poncha and a Nikita drink was needed on the trip and as we went to the peek of the island that day to see the sun set and this is a prime location for after or before staff are friendly atmosphere is awesome and the fresh air surrounding the area is the best

“Very friendly and attentive service. My father took the skewer with seven types of fish and I had the lasagne (which was incredibly tasty and almost like my mother's). Finally, we shared the tiramisu and I definitely recommend this;) We were seated straight away in the kitchen and were able to watch how everything was freshly prepared and you could taste it too!“
