Food absolutely excellent. It was very busy so service was a little slow but definitely worth it. Will be back
Greatest foods, great place & View.. Restaurante O Horta == is on the Seafront Toad in Olhao, looking out to the Ria Formosa , which is cionsidered as one of the seven wonders of Portugal. They offer a wide variety of seafoods dishes- using fresh and high quality ingredients from the Ria Formosa and the region such as seafood tejoada, the very typhical Algarvean cataplana and the tradional park with clams, you can also enjoy another importante Algarvean dish based on a tradional recipe- Xarem, with clams or cockles. Our fish is fresh, and here the quality of the gring techniques makes alk the difference. They also have wonderful regional sweets for dessert and a long diverse wine list. Come, Visit O Horta and see yourself..
We've put Horta in our regular family rotation! The food is great, prices are reasonable, and they have a play area for children. We love the chicken tagine, black pork cheeks stew, baby lamb rib chops, shrimp kebabs. They are always busy and reservations are a good idea, it's a popular local restaurant.

Had an amazing meal recently the beef kebab was amazing, the beef just melted in my mouth, so juicy and tasty. Excellent local wine too. Fantastic value for money. Staff mainly welcoming and pleasant apart from a couple who didn't seem to Happy and a smile would of made us feel more welcome hence 4 and not 5 stars. Not hard to make your customers feel welcome ?
Very busy both times I was there, good sign of the food. It has plenty of seating indoors and outdoors and plenty of parking, unusual for Portugal. I had the best lamb chops I've ever had there, however my wife's steak looked great covered with gravy/sauce and mushrooms but when she cut into it, it was raw. They offered to take it back but: Rule #1 don't send anything back to the kitchen. So one bad meal out of four is not a bad deal.
Great food and worth a visit. Lots of locals eating in there which is always a good sign. Reasonable prices and great service. I will be back before my fortnight holiday is down. ??????
grandma's food
Seems to have gone downhill. Very quiet and food was very bland and dry. Such a shame as it was our first place to go to on returning to Portugal.

Horta may never achieve number 1 in Sao bras but it is a great Portuguese restaurant, very popular with the local community. Arrive late and to be honest you wait. Everything cooked to order. First visit for a year due to Covid and we had a great evening with enthusiastic staff. Summer card reader problems have been overcome. Cards are accepted. Cannot wait to return.
We have been coming to Horta’s for over 10 years. They are always popular but particularly in the summer months when staff get a little stretched. The food is tasty, generous and not expensive, Drinks and table bites are supplied immediately. Sometimes we have waited up to an hour in busy periods but the wait is often worth it when the food arrives. Fish dishes are excellent They do not take credit cards.
Very unpleasant staff, everything was a problem, after finally ordering the meal took over one hour to arrive, after that long wait the food really was not that good, much better restaurants in the area such as Beira Serra in Mealha.
