Personally, there were 3 waiters we got to know. One was incredibly attentive and nice. The atmosphere and the view is stunning and I‘m sure some dishes on the menu are great, but I was extremly disappointed in the „Pizza Magaritta“. It‘s not only 14,75€ but you could clearly see that the pizza is bought frozen from the supermarket (and the chef put on some more cheese, which was way to much, and fresh tomatoes). Offering frozen pizza is arguebly a little inelegant, but having to pay almost 15€ for that is simply unacceptable. We tried to communicate our problem but the waitress told us that she is „actually not sure“ - no further information or compensation. There are way better options in Funchal, so please if u go there: Do not take Pizza there, it‘s way to overpriced!!! But you also have to be aware that it‘s not the waiters/waitresses fault, I think the managment is obligated to do something about it.

We came here twice in 1 week and both times the food was amazing. The espetada madeirense and the cod fish were fantastic. Also, very friendly servers and the view is absolutely breathtaking. If you go on a Saturday, you will enjoy the bailinho da Madeira ( Madeiran Folklore music and dancing) It starts at 8pm. Price is very reasonable for the quality of food. Definitely recommend.

The staff tried hard to do everything to satisfy the customers. Since we had half board from the hotel and the menu was given, I can only comment on that.The food wasn't very tasty, we had to return a lot of it or skipped it. The meat was either tough or raw. Dessert consisted of pre-made desserts. Some of the cake was still frozen from breakfast.The ambience is really nice and the drink prices are okay.
Restaurante A Montanha was one of the best gastronomic experiences I had in Madeira.The views are really what characterize the restaurant most, as it is possible to see the entire island, both day and night, in its entirety.The kitchen is open, very well organized and the staff are attentive, attentive and helpful.The food was absolutely divine.The prices are a little high, but for the experience they gave us, they were worth every penny.Whenever I return to Madeira, I will definitely return to Restaurante A Montanha.An unforgettable experience that I can’t wait to repeat again.
