“A great restaurant in Évora, quite hidden, you have to climb a few stairs to get to it. Inside it has a cozy decor giving the feeling of being in a grandmother's house.
The waitress was 5*, very friendly, always asking if we needed anything and always ready to clarify everything. And he even gave the recipe for the fantastic Lima mousse.
The food is very good and very well prepared, we also had the pleasure of meeting the cook who was a fantastic woman.
I recommend the Garlic Trench, Lime Mousse and the Condensed Milk Cheesecake.
Unfortunately I didn't take any photos, as I was very hungry, but I will go back to try other dishes again.“
“It’s really good especially considering it’s a hotel restaurant. You can’t beat the exterior and ambiance. Beautiful arches! The service is fantastic, so fantastic. The food is on the higher end price wise but also quality wise. Everything we had was delicious. The porco preto basically melted in my mouth. I don’t like meringue but their dessert was beautiful, interactive, and not too sweet. It was honestly a great meal even though we were exhausted that night. We had the red wine that’s made there, and it was very good. They also gave us glasses of champagne that’s made there (well sparkling wine) which is our favorite way to start a meal! Even better we were able to bring what we couldn’t finish to our room.“

“Unique experience, the atmosphere is truly Portuguese. The owner manages the room at his pace but with respect for the customers. The lady of the house does the cooking. For a village that seems deserted on Sundays, he still has to refuse a dozen customers because it is full.“

“Great quality for the price you’re paying. Not many options to choose from, but if you want to try Alentejo’s traditional food without spending a fortune, that’s the place you’re looking for.
When I was there the place was full of locals and the owner was very friendly ?
Parking: City center - hard to find parking. Not expensive though.
Kid-friendliness: The place is very small, but with a bit of luck you might find a spot to park your kid’s stroller.“

“Great experience and location! The house rose was delicious. The host was so friendly and gave us many winery recommendations. My husband had the pork cheeks and I had the grilled chicken with demi-glace, both were cooked perfectly and very tasty. We will return when back in Évora!“

“One of the best or the best pastry shop in Évora!
Divine cakes (best honey and walnut cake I've ever had in my life).
The owner (an elderly lady) is a sweet lady, very attentive and sweet.
And the owner is also very attentive
The atmosphere and decoration were very typical, I loved it!
And the price is very good for the quality of the products.
5 stars would give 10 stars if possible.“
“Great little local cafe! We had lunch there and had a great time. The dishes are good, plentiful and inexpensive. The owner is adorable, and even though she doesn't speak English well, she knows how to make herself understood. 15€ for a sandwich, a local cassoulet, a coke and a huge glass of wine. We were full! If you want to taste good typical Portuguese dishes, don't hesitate!“

“We stopped for dinner on Sunday evening, the food was truly delicious and the place was very nice and clean. It is a place where typical dishes and products from the area are served. The portions are very generous. The menu is available in English, French and Spanish, as well as Portuguese of course. The typical dishes of the day are only listed on the Portuguese menu so I recommend you take a look at it and ask the waiters for information, the staff is very kind and helpful, they speak English and understand Italian. It was a truly pleasant experience and we recommend it.“

“We went for lunch as a family, there were 5 of us, we ate octopus feijoada and veal and chicken bites. The food was really tasty and well served, the price was quite fair in relation to the quality. I thought the service wasn't very friendly, and there was only one person serving/lifting/taking care of the lunch room.
Taking everything into account, I rate it 4 stars because the service could be better, the food is really good and I recommend visiting.“

Realmente TOP! Recomendo a 100%!! Obrigado por esta experiência!“

“Cantinho da Tété in Évora is a gastronomic gem run by a charming couple. Their warm welcome and their passion for cooking create a friendly and authentic atmosphere. The dishes, prepared with fresh, local ingredients, reflect the rich culinary tradition of the Alentejo region. Every bite is a delight, with perfectly balanced flavors and careful presentations. The service is impeccable, with particular attention paid to every detail. Whether for a leisurely breakfast or a small lunch, Cantinho da Tété offers an unforgettable experience that embodies the essence of Portuguese hospitality. We went there 3 times! Perfect and fresh little meals. Don't miss out on tasting the gazpacho (Alentejo version)! Thanks again to Sandra and Riu for sharing local traditions and great discussions!“

“10 estrelas.
Wheelchair accessibility: É tudo a nível do R/C.“

“Pay attention to employee training!!!! Despite management trying to alleviate certain situations, with the humility with which they are characterized, these are very unpleasant situations. Pay attention to the employee who serves you!!! There is at least one who has not yet learned the lesson of humility, essential in the area of restoration! Hugo will definitely not remain in the area!
The food is still excellent and the waiting time has improved exceptionally!“

“The small cafe, located in one of Evora's small side streets, has very good coffee and a wonderful selection of delicious tarts (both sweet and savory).
During our visit at the end of April, we were able to sit outside in the quiet square with large trees and enjoy the late afternoon sun.
The service was very friendly and attentive.“

“Top top top the good eating and welcoming of traditional Alentejo cuisine. Probably one of the best dogfish soups I've ever eaten, a slightly vinegary, smooth broth with subtle aromas of garlic and coriander and king dogfish, we finished with equally divine coriander feet. The friendliness of the gentleman who served us was exemplary.Don't expect a fancy restaurant, just an old-fashioned one where the quality of the food still reigns supreme.“
“A very pleasant dinner, in a very peaceful and well decorated environment. The cover with Alentejo bread, sheep's cheese and local olive oil was great! We tried several dishes, highlighting the Alentejo Açorda, the octopus and the tenderloin with almond crust!“
“We went to their restaurant 1556 for lunch one day and went back nearly every day we could thereafter - excellent food, service and atmosphere and a special commendation to Joao whose above and beyond service made it all extra special. Very highly recommended, we would most definitely go again.“

“A restaurant where Vattern is at the front keeping the locals happy and Muttern is in the kitchen preparing Alentejo delicacies. Not a fancy-schmancy temple, but a restaurant mostly visited by locals. Everything was very clean and friendly service.
There is no menu, everything is handwritten on a blackboard. However, the Google Translator couldn't handle the handwriting. So I just ordered carne de porco, batatas fritas and salad and 1/2 liter of Vino Tinto. And then the plate came... in addition to salad and batatas, it was filled with 5 pieces of meat, of which I couldn't have said which piece of the pig they came from because of the shape. But one thing I can say is that it was the tastiest pork I've ever eaten in my life. As a sobremesa there was a huge piece of delicious cake and afterwards I was so full that I called a taxi. The whole feast cost €20.“
