Restaurant in the heart of Sintra, the service was very friendly. We ordered pasteis de bacalhau as a starter which were good. We then had the porco alentejena which was excellent. The linguiça alheira is served with rice, thin fried potatoes and a green salad which unfortunately lacked seasoning which is a shame. The value for money is however relatively correct, it is an address that will remain in my notebook for a future trip to Sintra!

I recently had the pleasure of dining here during our family vacation in Portugal. Nestled in the heart of this picturesque town, A Taverna was recommended to us after finishing a castle tour. The food was so delicious and this restaurant easily became one of our favorite restaurants during our time in Portugal. The staff was also so friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. Excellent. Great food, abundant dishes, friendly waiters and correct prices. After having eaten in non-touristy places I was afraid of not finding a good place to eat in Sintra. How lucky I was to find this place and how good everything was!
