“Good pasta and pizza. Price is somewhat expensive, especially the drinks, but at the end of the day we are in a very touristy area. Very delicious food and very good service”
“Great restaurant conveniently located in the centre of Sintra. Staff are very attentive and professional. Food is well presented and well cooked with full of flavour. I would recommend both for a relaxed dinner as well as a romantic occasion. To be safe book ahead but when we went in, there were plenty of free tables, albeit it was an early dinner”
“The food was good, the plates were quite filling, the prices were consistent with what was served and the location and the attentive and friendly staff but I want to make special mention that a client came with his dog and as soon as he sat down they immediately gave him water and even gave him water. They gave a prize. They were attentive and loving even with the dog and for me it is something super important. The place is spacious and has a terrace but it fills up quickly.
Parking: It's crazy to take the car to Sintra
Wheelchair accessibility: Sintra itself is a place that is not very accessible due to the number of slopes you encounter along the way.”
“Japanese haute cuisine, with a Michelin star, and which aims, in some way, to fuse with details of Portuguese cuisine. Excellent quality of the fish, and impeccable presentations. Professional attention. As for negative aspects, I will say that I don't think it's good that, in a tasting menu like this, with a high price, they charge you for a coffee, and also 5 euros.I also don't think it's right that they charge six times the RRP for the wine we drank. And, in Portugal, in this restaurant, inside a five-star hotel, not having a white Port of 20 years or more is not acceptable.”
“They treated us with great kindness and interest. We highlight the cod and beef carpaccio. Grain croquettes have a different flavor. The professional who took care of us very well. Yes there is a but the price is a bit expensive”

“Great Indian food! One suggestion: please create a Google location for your Colares, Praia da Macas location - everyone is always searching for the number and has no idea how to order for pick up. Also would be great to have copies of your Macas location menu up on this Google location also please! :)”
“Very good service, very delicious food, the man who served us was very attentive, he even gave us directions about the city. Good prices and good atmosphere, they have a billiards. Highly recommended.”
“A really nice and cute restaurant in Sintra. There are delicious Portuguese specialties and the staff is very, very nice. I advise you to book before coming. The service is pretty fast! I recommend and I would go back there if I could”

“Good pasta and pizza. Price is somewhat expensive, especially the drinks, but at the end of the day we are in a very touristy area. Very delicious food and very good service”
“Super delicious (vegetarian) food! We are very happy to have taken the few steps out of the very crowded city center. The service is very friendly and the food comes quickly. The prices are unbeatable! We (27 & 28 years old) would definitely recommend it.”
“Lovely small place with outdoor seating. Just a few minutes walk out of the busy historic center. Has lots of beers in bottles and about 10 on tap. They also have their own brewery. Great snacks too”

“I cannot write enough good things about this restaurant. The employees at Bengal graciously sat us 35 minutes before they closed. We all ordered three of the specials, the Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Curry, and Dal Makhani. Portions were fantastic: came with a substantial portion of rice and naan. It was easily some of the best Indian food all three of us have ever had. (My FIL is from England)
I got the Tandoori chicken and it was so moist and tender. My partner had the Dal and it was so flavorful and the texture was just perfect. The naan was fluffy and soft with a perfect char on the outside.
We couldn’t get enough of our meals. We ordered another curry to go for my partner’s brother.
We will absolutely be returning when we come back to Sintra. I’ll be thinking about this meal for years to come.
Vegetarian options: Had a myriad of vegan and vegetarian options!”
“The food was very tasty and we were full. But it would be cool if there was cheese on the vegetarian burger too. Otherwise the waitress (young lady with brown hair) was really nice and the food was brought quickly. If you're waiting for the train, I can recommend stopping by there :) Price-performance ratio is great.
Vegetarian options: Vegetarian burger. Unfortunately it doesn't have cheese.”
“We wanted a hookah lounge and are staying in Ericeira, so the closest was this lounge. Literally the highlight of our trip. We wish we came here every night of our trip. The hookah is the best we have had and we make them at home so are well versed! The aesthetic is beautiful and well thought out. The vibes, food, atmosphere, service, drinks—everything was excellent. Worth the trip and an amazing addition to our vacation.”
“A must-visit restaurant if you are in Sintra.
Traditional cuisine, tasty and good quantity, all with its accompaniments.
We ordered baked sea bass, roast duck and octopus, all great.
To finish, mix of desserts, delicious.
Thank you for the wine recommendation and above all for the good treatment.”
“The service was absolutely amazing, very kind and personable staff, and the gelato was some of the best I have ever had. I am definitely recommending this place!!”
“Went to Sintra and it started raining and we were looking for a place to eat, these sweet people from passione pizza started up the pizza oven earlier for us. Also very delicious crusty pizza.”
“Quiet atmosphere, very beautiful setting in this traditional restaurant with a little touch of modernity in the dishes. Very friendly and attentive staff. The tart queijadas were great. We recommend.”
“Superb. You won't go wrong with the buffet. Quality sushi and the hot rolls in particular were yummy! So good we came back the following night for poke bowl and ramen. Friendly, speedy service too. Can't recommend enough, oh and really reasonable prices! ??”

“Revelation.
Very nice, professional and helpful service. Nice welcome, excellent proactive contact with guests.
You can feel that the approach to food is very good. The menu is not overloaded, the dishes are partly made from home-made products.
We can definitely recommend what we ate: Camaro a Tasco, Choco Frito, Cacholeira. And delicious ice cream.
The background music is also spot on, and there's a local atmosphere so you don't feel like you're a tourist.

“Great address!
The restaurant offers fresh, quality products.
The service is fast, efficient and friendly.
Remember to book well in advance because you are a victim of its success.”
“A small restaurant with a great view and good food. We had the octopus, a Caipi beforehand, chocolate mousse and apple cake for dessert, an all-round successful evening.”
“Very good roast chicken. For desserts, I recommend the chocolate cake and the lemon meringue tart.
Quality/price ratio of the best restaurants I've ever been to.”
“Good sweets that surprised us. They are based on cinnamon and cheese, very rich and different. They go perfectly with the coffee they offer. Mythical site that has survived for many years and hopefully will continue for many more.”
“Very, very delicious food and generous dishes. I ate the piece of beef and it was very good. I only have one drawback, and that is that they give you without asking an appetizer that consists of cheese, bread, olives, and ham and they charge you almost €10 for it. Why are you charging me for something I don't want and haven't asked for?…those things bother me a lot”
“Homemade food. Very affordable daily dishes. Soup of the day, dish, dessert and drink approximately 12 euros per person. Restaurant with different decor with antique crockery.
We ordered some broken eggs as a starter.
The dish of the day, soup and cod with cornbread.
For dessert, a salted caramel mousse (you can share it, because it's quite sweet, but super greedy)
Parking: Private parking on site, free of charge.”
“I'm a Glovo courier and I always collect orders from this restaurant. I was there yesterday, they told me to come in, sit on some sofas reserved for customers, they offered me something to eat or drink (which I didn't accept), I waited for my order and I left there with a good impression and a feeling of dignity that we didn't find it anywhere. Rating 10!”
“At lunch, the full menu costs €9.95 with three dishes to choose from: one with fish and two with meat, drink, dessert and coffee. Value for money, surroundings in a wooded area with terrace, peaceful environment.”
“Outstanding food in a delightful setting and really good service. The value for money was also very good. We had a stunning Gorgonzola and pear risotto (????) and pork ribs with a lovely fresh salad and good hand cut fries. The house wine was really good. We will return next time we are in the area!”
“La mejor pizza de Sintra sin duda alguna. La masa es espectacular, un tanto diferente a lo habitual, puesto que la tendencia hoy es ir hacia masas más finas, esta, sin embargo, es una masa gruesa y jugosa. La pizza bien cargada de ingredientes frescos y de calidad. La señora que nos atendió fue amable y muy educada. Repetiremos!”

“I have had the pleasure of dining at Buzio on 3 occasions now. It is without doubt, one of my favorite restaurants in the world. The obvious is the incredibly fresh seafood from the best purveyors in PT. The less obvious is the service. It is as good as what you would find in Michelin-starred restaurants in Paris—professional, invisible and incredibly pleasant. The ambiance is always wonderful, with large families and friends enjoying celebratory meals. The wine list features some incredible local winemakers, whose wines pair very well with the dishes. Even the bread is top notch. Fair warning, it is not inexpensive. Love this place.
Parking: Parking is super easy as the restaurant has its own private lot with an easy rear entry.”

“I went with four friends and everything was wonderful from start to finish. We were warmly welcomed and the service from the staff was excellent. The food was great, well presented and fresh. The playlist was very good, the sound was at the right volume and the decor was very tasteful.”
“We came here for lunch after visiting Pena Palace. It was a little out of the way, but ultimately meant it wasn't super busy or touristy which I appreciated! We tried the toast with goat cheese and honey, tempura octopus tentacles and black pork belly, and enjoyed all of it! There was only one outdoor table and it was quite hot inside (as well as outside) which was my only hesitation.”
“We had a nice time here. We went there for drinks and to enjoy a relaxing afternoon. On our first visit Sarah waited at our table. She is very helpful and sweet. We were seated and served very quickly. The next afternoon we visited again thanks to our positive experience. This time Marcelo waited at our table. He is super polite, helpful and friendly. Once again we were seated and served quickly. Overall, we had a lovely time relaxing with a glass of wine and some tapas at this restaurant.”
“Briliant! As owner says 'Everything we serve we would serve to our family.' Salada de Anchovas was brilliant. Bravo potatoes out of this world. A hidden gem. I feel sad watching the people pass by,this place is so good. Thank you Casa Merocos. Perfect last night in Portugal.”
“I was in Sintra visiting the Pena Palace and the tour guides highly recommended Tulhas, especially if you're looking to try seafood rice and I was! The restaurant is small and tight, decorated with tiles and wood, located between the tourism office and San Martin Church. The seafood rice was good, filling and hearty, though I would recommend this dish only for fans of seafood.”
“We had our wedding dinner at Sabores de Sintra and we couldn't have chosen better! From the attention and friendliness provided from the beginning, to all the preparation and care for details. The team was always very professional, willing and ready for any unforeseen circumstances. We highly recommend the place :)”
“Incredible place! Recommended by a local and it did not disappoint.
I absolutely recommend coming here. We try the pheasant and the portugues board! Really good!
The staff is incredible as well.
Thanks!”
“Cozy place, with very good hamburgers and nice and competent staff. Reasonable prices. Totally recommended.
Parking: Estacionamento na rua, mas sem complicações.”
“Firstly, congratulations on the space and service provided by the participants,Contrary to everything I read, the new management has everything very organized, a quiet space, good presentation of tables, the service for making appointments is very friendly and available, I advise you to make an appointment well in advance, as the place was full, beautiful shrimp risotto, it was great advice from our waiter. There is also music and karaoke for those who enjoy a beautiful end to the night with lots of fun with friends.Congratulations once again.”
“Service of ten, especially from the manager/owner. We ate very good quantity and quality and affordable price. It has many tables and is open all day, so you don't even need to reserve, you go and they find a place for you. Totally recommended.”
“Before going up to the Palace, we had lunch in this restaurant.
Everything was perfect, the price, the quality and above all the service.
Many thanks!”

Takeout Restaurants
“Original Portuguese restaurant.
The cooking here is very traditional. It tasted really good. OUR public bus for the ride home was a lot. Guests and owners helped us perfectly. Thank you”
“A nice shOp just in the heart of the Sintra. We bought a bottle of water and a large pot of ice cream which was delicious. The price is the tourist price and high indeed. The lady was kind and spoke english. The shop itself is clean and tidy. Thank you ALE HOP Sintra”
“We came here for our last dinner of our honeymoon. One lady who was extra helpful and even helped walked us up to the rooftop terrace to watch sunset after our amazing meal. We shared ginja, sangria, a side of delicious mushrooms and a rack of lamb. The lamb was exceptional and we thoroughly enjoyed the overall experience. We look forward to visiting again!!”
“Every time I go it is, without a doubt, the place where I stop to eat. Good food and service, it is true that there are many people it will take a while to serve but the kitchen is great.”

“I don’t know where all the negative reviews are coming from, but our experience was great! The food was amazing, as well as service. House wine was great too, literally one of the best places to eat in Sintra.”
“A jewel near Sintra, essential if you are going to be here for a few days. The place, well decorated with an eighties theme, the food, delicious. First class ingredients and variety. We recommend the club sandwich. The service, of those that tip the balance for being pleasant, friendly, and close. Congratulations.!”
Cheap Eats
“The best cod I've ever eaten, friendly staff. The restaurant presents the menu in a very intuitive application for various nationalities and explanations about all the dishes and how they are prepared. I highly recommend it.”
“We were headed to the buses to go for a day of touring the castles of Sintra. Happened upon this place unexpectantly and decided to grab a bite. Absolutely delicious quiches’s, we had one vegetarian and one vegan option. One was gluten free but I can’t remember which. 100% would come back and recommend.”

“A simple cafe with simple and inexpensive food. Soup 5.90 and second course 7.90 - Pork in white sauce with mushrooms, rice and a salad of chopped vegetables. Very tasty and fast. I didn't have enough energy for desserts, because everything was so filling. I recommend”
“The best hotdogs in Sintra and surrounding areas.Located in the market. Municipal de Sintra, with great menu and service.Affordable prices and the best service. Friendliness and quality”
“A great surprise…!
Churrasqueira close to our vacation spot, one lunchtime we went there a little late to buy something to eat…. And so we sat down at the table. They speak mainly Portuguese and a little bit of English, but if you are lucky enough like us to have a French speaker at the table, it's the jackpot!!!
We were very well received there and the grills are super good! We had a mix and the dish was suitable for two! The sauces and marinades are very good and the meat is juicy and tender. Go ahead with your eyes closed”

“Nice restaurant a little away from the extreme hustle and bustle of the center of Sintra. The view is great and the food is good, with affordable prices, especially considering the setting. However, a negative point for the very very long wait...”
“It is odd to review a small restaurant off the beaten track in a tourist location, but our experience following an exhausting hike in Sintra was so good I wanted to comment. First, the service was exceptional. The server (manager?) was constantly looking for service opportunities whether it be replenishing drinks or taking orders. And there were no lags in service. Also, the food was really good. We both ordered steak sandwiches along with some beers (the stouts were great) and were shocked how good the food was. We had spend nearly two weeks touring Spain and the Portugal...and remarkably this little spot was in the top few locations we ate at. Go figure...and go there if you are in the area.”
“Very good homemade burgers and they have gluten-free bread, the menu has fries with herbs and homemade mayonnaise also with spices and garlic, very good. Recommended to eat, the service is fast.
Wheelchair accessibility: It doesn't have any, they are stairs”

“It was really good Indian Food. I really know what good Indian Food is and I know what kind of bad Indian Food you can get in "good" Restaurants". This was 5star Level.”

“Very good restaurant, if you pass through Sintra and want to eat there, it is one of the best options. The food is delicious, we have not been disappointed by any dish.Abundant quantities in the main dishes, with a very well achieved flavor, impeccable service and a clean and cozy place.Highly recommended, if one day we return, we will definitely come.”
“This is without a doubt one of the best bars in the Sintra and Lisbon area, if not the best.Impeccable food with incredible toast and superb cocktails.A fantastic atmosphere with very friendly and helpful staff.Without a doubt a bar to return to again and again.”
“We came here because I needed a break from walking and I'm so glad we did! We had a chocolate crepe and 2 cups of beer sangria - one red and one white. I was skeptical about how beer would blend in a sangria but I absolutely loved it - it's one of the highlights of Sintra for me! I preferred it with the white wine, but both were great!”

“Restaurant in the heart of Sintra, the service was very friendly. We ordered pasteis de bacalhau as a starter which were good. We then had the porco alentejena which was excellent. The linguiça alheira is served with rice, thin fried potatoes and a green salad which unfortunately lacked seasoning which is a shame.
The value for money is however relatively correct, it is an address that will remain in my notebook for a future trip to Sintra!”
“Super delicious (vegetarian) food! We are very happy to have taken the few steps out of the very crowded city center. The service is very friendly and the food comes quickly. The prices are unbeatable! We (27 & 28 years old) would definitely recommend it.”
