“The food was good, the plates were quite filling, the prices were consistent with what was served and the location and the attentive and friendly staff but I want to make special mention that a client came with his dog and as soon as he sat down they immediately gave him water and even gave him water. They gave a prize. They were attentive and loving even with the dog and for me it is something super important. The place is spacious and has a terrace but it fills up quickly.
Parking: It's crazy to take the car to Sintra
Wheelchair accessibility: Sintra itself is a place that is not very accessible due to the number of slopes you encounter along the way.“

“Revelation.
Very nice, professional and helpful service. Nice welcome, excellent proactive contact with guests.
You can feel that the approach to food is very good. The menu is not overloaded, the dishes are partly made from home-made products.
We can definitely recommend what we ate: Camaro a Tasco, Choco Frito, Cacholeira. And delicious ice cream.
The background music is also spot on, and there's a local atmosphere so you don't feel like you're a tourist.
Thank you. We will try to come back someday.“

“A really lovely late lunch/early dinner. Sat outside and had a great time. We got piri piri prawns, breaded cuttlefish, bruschetta, sautéed mushrooms, honey sausage - would recommend all of those! Sangria was great and we tried the port too. The service was excellent, very kind people and felt like a very authentic experience and opportunity to learn more about Sintra. It’s about 5 minutes from the station so ideal for the start or end of a day trip. Also, they have soft blankets if it feels a little chilly. A highlight of our holiday and a meal we won’t forget!“

“I had a simply stunning lunch, starting with the service which was excellent, the chef's touch of refinement in the presentation of the starters and desserts was divine.
Everything was very good, from the preparation to the perfect combinations of ingredients.
A really top lunch in every aspect.“

“If we return to Sintra, we will definitely repeat. Homemade food and very good service. The dishes are abundant and at a good price.
First we ordered the grelhado cheese which was very good. The house offers you starters at the table and if you don't want them you just have to tell them so they don't charge you for them. For the main course we ordered a bacalhau with cream and a maminha. The food was 10 and we were full. The attention is very close and very good even if we are tourists, they treat you as if you were one of the locals. They have made us feel very comfortable. My congratulations to the place for achieving such good results in Sintra, where most restaurants are expensive and offer poor quality.“

“Food was delicious and service was over the top well done. Delicious appetizers. Fresh fish shown to pick out, then prepared with our choice of sides. We were seated next to area where we could watch it being prepared. Warm plates upon serving. Mojitos were better than from Cuba or Miami. Desert of warm chocolate cake paired with a raspberry sorbet. Everything was delicious. I highly recommend!“

“I had the most incredible lunch at Caricato. Greatly situated with views of Serra de Sintra and close to the beach, what makes this restaurant special is the truly remarkable food and wine offerings. The grilled squid was an absolute delight, bursting with flavor. To make it even more special, the staff is warm and helpful which made us feel right at home. The cooks are undeniably talented; every dish is a feast! Caricato is definitely my favourite restaurant in the area.“

“Great little place. So glad we stopped by after long day of walking in Sintra. Everything on the main square was so busy and we just wanted to be able to get away a little from it. Walked up the stairs a found this gem
Food was delicious. Tuna steak and octopus dinner both grilled to perfection.
If you are in Sintra , stop by.“

“A must-visit restaurant if you are in Sintra.
Traditional cuisine, tasty and good quantity, all with its accompaniments.
We ordered baked sea bass, roast duck and octopus, all great.
To finish, mix of desserts, delicious.
Thank you for the wine recommendation and above all for the good treatment.“

“Zo lekker gegeten hier. We hadden een stukje vlees met champignon roomsaus en ham, verrukkelijk. Alle andere dingen op de kaart klonken ook lekker. Voor de rest heeft het binnen wat meer sfeer dan buiten, maar heeft ons niet tegen gehouden om buiten te zitten.“

“After a long day of hiking in the area we were looking for a place to eat dinner and we were lucky when we found this restaurant, the waiters were extremely kind and the food was perfect, each member of the family enjoyed it very tasty and nothing was left on the plates. The dessert was also extremely delicious and everything felt fresh and delicious, we will definitely be back again.
Excellent value for money.

“Chicken Lunch à Guia at Somos um Regalo in Sintra.
For starters came Bread, Olives and a good Chamuça.
Then Chicken Guide with Spicy, French fries, rice and tomato dish with onion, (side dishes charged separately). The chicken is good but in my opinion the spicy sauce uses a little too much oil.
For dessert I ordered the Baba de Camelo which is homemade and tasty.
I accompanied it with 1/2 bottle of House Red Wine.
Meals around €20 per person with dessert and starters.“

“I have had the pleasure of dining at Buzio on 3 occasions now. It is without doubt, one of my favorite restaurants in the world. The obvious is the incredibly fresh seafood from the best purveyors in PT. The less obvious is the service. It is as good as what you would find in Michelin-starred restaurants in Paris—professional, invisible and incredibly pleasant. The ambiance is always wonderful, with large families and friends enjoying celebratory meals. The wine list features some incredible local winemakers, whose wines pair very well with the dishes. Even the bread is top notch. Fair warning, it is not inexpensive. Love this place.
Parking: Parking is super easy as the restaurant has its own private lot with an easy rear entry.“

“Homemade food. Very affordable daily dishes. Soup of the day, dish, dessert and drink approximately 12 euros per person. Restaurant with different decor with antique crockery.
We ordered some broken eggs as a starter.
The dish of the day, soup and cod with cornbread.
For dessert, a salted caramel mousse (you can share it, because it's quite sweet, but super greedy)
Parking: Private parking on site, free of charge.“

Stylishly furnished
The dishes are creative and freshly prepared. My ribs were cooked to perfection and the prices for the food and drinks are outstanding for the quality“
“Very nice place with good food.
Lovely people, we laughed a lot with the owners, quite surprised that tourists came to their Family horeca business.
If you want to enjoy "the real Portuguese" atmosphere, it is the place to be!

“An authentic Portuguese inn with a super reduced menu because they serve their specialty: grilled meats. We ordered the goat and it was spectacular. Super recommended if you want to escape the touristy Sintra (we were the only non-Portuguese eating there!).“

“This is a fantastic restaurant and a must-go especially for dinner if you are staying at the resort. The ambience, environment and pacing is perfect before winding down to a good night's sleep. I highly recommend the Truffle and Mushroom risotto as it is the best I have ever tasted, along with the apple dessert that came with a lovely theatrical surprise for the customer.
I would like to bring recognition to Kkchitij's amazing service, he showed deep detailed food and product knowledge and provided a world class presentation . It is evident that he and along with the rest of the team are Michelin level staffs, and it made the dinner feel like a story telling journey. Thank you Thiago and team for the lovely and memorable night.
Dietary restrictions: Kkchitij the waiter asked about my dietary restrictions ahead of dinner. and the rest of the evening was worry-free as he kindly advised the best items to order according to my needs.“

“The food was very good the environment was nice but nothing spectacular the typical meat given with the potatoes instead was something extraordinary.

“I was in Sintra visiting the Pena Palace and the tour guides highly recommended Tulhas, especially if you're looking to try seafood rice and I was! The restaurant is small and tight, decorated with tiles and wood, located between the tourism office and San Martin Church. The seafood rice was good, filling and hearty, though I would recommend this dish only for fans of seafood.“

“A wonderful local restaurant suggested by our tour guide Jose. Very much family oriented with a very large menu. I had the grilled lamb portion, which was served with fries, rice and a small salad. I ordered a side salad but only ate half, since the original menu portion was more than enough for 2 people. My wife had the veal half portion and side salad, but it was too much for her. Excellent hosts“

“It is odd to review a small restaurant off the beaten track in a tourist location, but our experience following an exhausting hike in Sintra was so good I wanted to comment. First, the service was exceptional. The server (manager?) was constantly looking for service opportunities whether it be replenishing drinks or taking orders. And there were no lags in service. Also, the food was really good. We both ordered steak sandwiches along with some beers (the stouts were great) and were shocked how good the food was. We had spend nearly two weeks touring Spain and the Portugal...and remarkably this little spot was in the top few locations we ate at. Go figure...and go there if you are in the area.“

“May 23, 2024
We had bacalhau à brás (salted cod, eggs and potatoes), one of the most famous and classic Portuguese dishes, for lunch. It resembled fried rice at first sight, but it tasted far from it and was really delicious!
While waiting for dessert, my dad told me that he saw a dog behind the counter, so I immediately went to check out the dog. However, he seemed to be sleeping and I could only see his back from a distance. Therefore, I decided to come back later. To my surprise, a man who seemed to be the restaurant owner came up and beckoned “come over” to me as soon as I returned to my seat. I happily followed him behind the counter, and the friendly dog came close to me with a wagging tail. He instantly melted my heart. Even though it’s been nearly a month, the amiable staff and cute dog Boby still bring a smile to my face as I write this.
Thank you so much ? ?“

“A patio with several tables! Peaceful place! A nice place! The service was a bit dry, being Spanish “they didn't want to serve us” because they didn't understand us!

“I stopped by Tasca Saloia in Lisbon for lunch and tried their Octopus Salad. The dish was nice as octopus were cut up into bite size pieces, the meat was tender and had good flavour. The garnishing was refreshing and complemented the octopus as well. Overall, it’s worth trying if in the area and I’d rate it 8.3/10“

“Although the restaurant is centrally located, it has few tourists because it’s on the back side of the square. Tour guides often come here for their breaks. The food is good; we had various tapas. It's important to note that you can only pay in cash here, as no cards are accepted. Naturally, I didn't have cash on me and had to find an ATM first. Despite this inconvenience, it’s a great spot for a break, away from the mass tourism. The ambiance is relaxed and it’s highly recommended for a quiet, enjoyable meal.“

“Great restaurant conveniently located in the centre of Sintra. Staff are very attentive and professional. Food is well presented and well cooked with full of flavour. I would recommend both for a relaxed dinner as well as a romantic occasion. To be safe book ahead but when we went in, there were plenty of free tables, albeit it was an early dinner“
