This relationship between food and environment works excellently in this place.
All the negative reviews seemed to be during peak times. We went at about 5 pm on a Wednesday, split pitchers of sangria and wood fired pizzas, it was amazing food.
Very calm and open-air restaurant, good for relaxing and enjoying the moment. The food was excellent and well served. I highly recommend

Taverna dos Trovadores offers exceptionally prepared octopus à lagareiro in a very welcoming atmosphere with extremely friendly staff. Located near São Pedro fair square, it provides a beautiful setting with live music and fantastic ambiance, allowing guests to immerse themselves in Sintra's history. While the food is not perfect, it is still very tasty, and the chef's cod has been noted as delicious, possibly the best in Portugal. The experience was overall good, although some beef ribs were undercooked. The staff, aside from one host, provided excellent service. Customers can expect a mix of delicious meals, including wood-fired pizzas, and a lively environment at this establishment. It is an idyllic place to eat after visiting Sintra's castles, with nearby free shaded parking and easy wheelchair access.
