We were very satisfied with the place. Cozy place, the waiters understand and speak English. They were very nice to us. The food was very tasty (we had soup, main course and dessert). Even half the portion was enough, we lived well. The waiters were attentive. The restaurant was full and locals (at least Portuguese) also go here. At the end, we each received a glass of port and some sweets. It went very well in the end. We would love to come back here.

We had the beef Milanese, the beef a cafe and the arroz caldoso. We were disappointed with the taste of the dishes which was weak. The beef Milanese saves the honor a little, the meat, potatoes and cabbage were good. The waiter places starters on the table without us having ordered and without telling us that there was a charge. We naively thought it was free. Finally we learned that in Portugal the service was not included. In short, a restaurant that looks like a big tourist trap today. It's a shame knowing its long history. In short, I don't recommend it, you will find much better in Sintra.

If you are looking for a place to eat in Sintra I recommend this place. The price is between €15-25 per person, it depends a lot on how much you eat. The waitresses and waiters are attentive despite having the restaurant full. The food is good, it is a very Portuguese experience. Very good value for money.
The food was delicious, you can see its natural flavor. Very good atmosphere and charming service. It is the second time we have visited Sintra and we recommend visiting this place for lunch. Obrigado Sintra, obrigado Portugal ❤️????

This place is sooo good. Authentic Portuguese food. All the tourists walk by it which tells you it’s going to have good food.
The Monkfish rice was phenomenal! Sort of like a paella but this had chunks of flaky fish, shrimp, and mussels. If you keep the starters, save the bread to soak up the broth ?
At the end, they give you a complimentary pastry and a glass of port.
Oh, the house wine is outstanding and only €3.50 for a “glass”.

Anyone who enjoys eating would not appreciate the food here. It is quite simple, without any other worldly flavors or presentations. Regarding the service: I would have liked to enjoy dinner with my parents without two of the waiters being clingy and trying to get in my way. Super disrespectful for waiters in a restaurant to try to flirt with you and even worse in front of your parents! Disgusting, the food has a pass but the treatment ruins everything. I don't recommend at all.
