“Great restaurant conveniently located in the centre of Sintra. Staff are very attentive and professional. Food is well presented and well cooked with full of flavour. I would recommend both for a relaxed dinner as well as a romantic occasion. To be safe book ahead but when we went in, there were plenty of free tables, albeit it was an early dinner“

“Revelation.
Very nice, professional and helpful service. Nice welcome, excellent proactive contact with guests.
You can feel that the approach to food is very good. The menu is not overloaded, the dishes are partly made from home-made products.
We can definitely recommend what we ate: Camaro a Tasco, Choco Frito, Cacholeira. And delicious ice cream.
The background music is also spot on, and there's a local atmosphere so you don't feel like you're a tourist.
Thank you. We will try to come back someday.“

“A really lovely late lunch/early dinner. Sat outside and had a great time. We got piri piri prawns, breaded cuttlefish, bruschetta, sautéed mushrooms, honey sausage - would recommend all of those! Sangria was great and we tried the port too. The service was excellent, very kind people and felt like a very authentic experience and opportunity to learn more about Sintra. It’s about 5 minutes from the station so ideal for the start or end of a day trip. Also, they have soft blankets if it feels a little chilly. A highlight of our holiday and a meal we won’t forget!“

“I have never seen such a hospitable and committed owner in a restaurant. He is involved with all his guests, with whom he enjoys a chat and explains his dishes in detail. We had 6 different types of beef from different countries, each of very high quality. Definitely recommended!“

“Sintra is rammed with tourists - even in October when we visited. Villa Craft Beer and Bread was like a sea of calm amidst the chaos. Just off the main street, we had a relaxed beer (my wife had Jasmin, I had Ginger) and delicious mini pizzas. Would definitely recommend. Updated from previous review on 2024-10-28“

“EXCELLENT! A warm and family place. Typical and varied dishes but above all very good! The desserts are homemade by the owner and they are delicious! The staff is attentive and gives good advice.
We had a lovely time, we'll come back for sure. Advice, book.“

“I had a simply stunning lunch, starting with the service which was excellent, the chef's touch of refinement in the presentation of the starters and desserts was divine.
Everything was very good, from the preparation to the perfect combinations of ingredients.
A really top lunch in every aspect.“

“It is the best place to eat and dine in Sintra. Traditional and homemade food. Professional, attentive and close service. The price is affordable and they make you feel at home. Without a doubt if we return to Sintra we will repeat for sure.“

“If we return to Sintra, we will definitely repeat. Homemade food and very good service. The dishes are abundant and at a good price.
First we ordered the grelhado cheese which was very good. The house offers you starters at the table and if you don't want them you just have to tell them so they don't charge you for them. For the main course we ordered a bacalhau with cream and a maminha. The food was 10 and we were full. The attention is very close and very good even if we are tourists, they treat you as if you were one of the locals. They have made us feel very comfortable. My congratulations to the place for achieving such good results in Sintra, where most restaurants are expensive and offer poor quality.“

“The food was very tasty and we were full. But it would be cool if there was cheese on the vegetarian burger too. Otherwise the waitress (young lady with brown hair) was really nice and the food was brought quickly. If you're waiting for the train, I can recommend stopping by there :) Price-performance ratio is great.
Vegetarian options: Vegetarian burger. Unfortunately it doesn't have cheese.“

“We were there July 2025 and loved it.! The food was delicious and one of the best meal we had. My husband had the lamb and I had the steak. For dessert we tried something that was recommended made locally. It was so good. The service was great as well.. I do not have any pictures to add but the ones that I see here are older pictures. It has been renovated and looks beautiful.“

“I had the most incredible lunch at Caricato. Greatly situated with views of Serra de Sintra and close to the beach, what makes this restaurant special is the truly remarkable food and wine offerings. The grilled squid was an absolute delight, bursting with flavor. To make it even more special, the staff is warm and helpful which made us feel right at home. The cooks are undeniably talented; every dish is a feast! Caricato is definitely my favourite restaurant in the area.“

“Food was delicious and service was over the top well done. Delicious appetizers. Fresh fish shown to pick out, then prepared with our choice of sides. We were seated next to area where we could watch it being prepared. Warm plates upon serving. Mojitos were better than from Cuba or Miami. Desert of warm chocolate cake paired with a raspberry sorbet. Everything was delicious. I highly recommend!“

“Not a lot of vegan options on display in Sintra. (A few vegetarian ones.) This was one of the only places in Sintra’s centro historico that advertised them. They’re all vegan veggie burgers, but the one I had (bean burger) was tasty enough and filling. I could have done without the 80s music blasting but to each her own!“

“Great little place. So glad we stopped by after long day of walking in Sintra. Everything on the main square was so busy and we just wanted to be able to get away a little from it. Walked up the stairs a found this gem
Food was delicious. Tuna steak and octopus dinner both grilled to perfection.
If you are in Sintra , stop by.“

“A must-visit restaurant if you are in Sintra.
Traditional cuisine, tasty and good quantity, all with its accompaniments.
We ordered baked sea bass, roast duck and octopus, all great.
To finish, mix of desserts, delicious.
Thank you for the wine recommendation and above all for the good treatment.“

“Zo lekker gegeten hier. We hadden een stukje vlees met champignon roomsaus en ham, verrukkelijk. Alle andere dingen op de kaart klonken ook lekker. Voor de rest heeft het binnen wat meer sfeer dan buiten, maar heeft ons niet tegen gehouden om buiten te zitten.“

“A nice restaurant with friendly enough staff. We had a little hiccup with the appetisers so the staff acted a little less friendly to us…
The food was delicious, we ordered picanha with beans, rice, chips and salad. Also a big sparking sangria.“

“The gentleman that served us today was amazing. We only speak English but he was very fluent and we had a lovely time there. We went for a late lunch, I had mushroom risotto and my friends had the veggie pasta and the octopus with potatoes. We were all blown away by the tase and quality of the food. The prices are very reasonable and the terrace has a gorgeous view too. Couldn't fault this restaurant and would definitely go again if we're in the area.
Dietary restrictions: Dairy allergy was easily catered for and not an inconvenience“

“Chicken Lunch à Guia at Somos um Regalo in Sintra.
For starters came Bread, Olives and a good Chamuça.
Then Chicken Guide with Spicy, French fries, rice and tomato dish with onion, (side dishes charged separately). The chicken is good but in my opinion the spicy sauce uses a little too much oil.
For dessert I ordered the Baba de Camelo which is homemade and tasty.
I accompanied it with 1/2 bottle of House Red Wine.
Meals around €20 per person with dessert and starters.“

“Very, very delicious food and generous dishes. I ate the piece of beef and it was very good. I only have one drawback, and that is that they give you without asking an appetizer that consists of cheese, bread, olives, and ham and they charge you almost €10 for it. Why are you charging me for something I don't want and haven't asked for?…those things bother me a lot“

“Homemade food. Very affordable daily dishes. Soup of the day, dish, dessert and drink approximately 12 euros per person. Restaurant with different decor with antique crockery.
We ordered some broken eggs as a starter.
The dish of the day, soup and cod with cornbread.
For dessert, a salted caramel mousse (you can share it, because it's quite sweet, but super greedy)
Parking: Private parking on site, free of charge.“

“We went to spend part of the day in Sintra and looking for places to eat we found this spectacular place where to begin with what catches your attention the most is the pleasant treatment on the part of the waitresses, always polite, with a smile and helping you. if you don't understand the letter.
We were sitting on a little terrace with some very cute chairs and tables, the service is quite fast, the food is great, I highly recommend the grilled chorizo and the fried choco (breaded squid). And the price is quite acceptable for being in a place as touristy as Sintra.
100% recommendable.
Parking: Better to use public transport and once there, minibuses“

“Very nice place with good food.
Lovely people, we laughed a lot with the owners, quite surprised that tourists came to their Family horeca business.
If you want to enjoy "the real Portuguese" atmosphere, it is the place to be!

“For those who are in Sintra and want to have lunch in a typical restaurant with homemade food and family service, Solar Saloio is the recommended choice. To start, there was Mafra Bread, tasty Olives and a Dry Cheese. For main I ordered the Stewed Veal with French Fries and Rice. The meat was from the Aba area and as such it was a tasty and tender meat that fell apart with each bite, it was accompanied by good rice and homemade French fries, it also came with a well served mixed salad. I accompanied the meal with a great House Red Wine and finished with a Homemade Serradura. Friendly, familiar service and prices around €15 per person. I recommend!“
“I have been using this space for over 40 years. I emphasize the recent modernization and the presentation of products always with quality, without offense and without belittling all sellers and if I may, I name D. Alzira as an excellent kitchen, also Mr. Jorge with a superior counter and D. Flor with its quality charcuterie“

“This is a fantastic restaurant and a must-go especially for dinner if you are staying at the resort. The ambience, environment and pacing is perfect before winding down to a good night's sleep. I highly recommend the Truffle and Mushroom risotto as it is the best I have ever tasted, along with the apple dessert that came with a lovely theatrical surprise for the customer.
I would like to bring recognition to Kkchitij's amazing service, he showed deep detailed food and product knowledge and provided a world class presentation . It is evident that he and along with the rest of the team are Michelin level staffs, and it made the dinner feel like a story telling journey. Thank you Thiago and team for the lovely and memorable night.
Dietary restrictions: Kkchitij the waiter asked about my dietary restrictions ahead of dinner. and the rest of the evening was worry-free as he kindly advised the best items to order according to my needs.“

“We came here for lunch after visiting Pena Palace. It was a little out of the way, but ultimately meant it wasn't super busy or touristy which I appreciated! We tried the toast with goat cheese and honey, tempura octopus tentacles and black pork belly, and enjoyed all of it! There was only one outdoor table and it was quite hot inside (as well as outside) which was my only hesitation.“

“Restaurant in the heart of Sintra, the service was very friendly. We ordered pasteis de bacalhau as a starter which were good. We then had the porco alentejena which was excellent. The linguiça alheira is served with rice, thin fried potatoes and a green salad which unfortunately lacked seasoning which is a shame.
The value for money is however relatively correct, it is an address that will remain in my notebook for a future trip to Sintra!“

“The food was good, the plates were quite filling, the prices were consistent with what was served and the location and the attentive and friendly staff but I want to make special mention that a client came with his dog and as soon as he sat down they immediately gave him water and even gave him water. They gave a prize. They were attentive and loving even with the dog and for me it is something super important. The place is spacious and has a terrace but it fills up quickly.
Parking: It's crazy to take the car to Sintra
Wheelchair accessibility: Sintra itself is a place that is not very accessible due to the number of slopes you encounter along the way.“
