I have been using this space for over 40 years. I emphasize the recent modernization and the presentation of products always with quality, without offense and without belittling all sellers and if I may, I name D. Alzira as an excellent kitchen, also Mr. Jorge with a superior counter and D. Flor with its quality charcuterie

The architecture highlights the popular retail space with an exquisite panel of fixtures at the south entrance. Inside, the freshness of the food mixes with the aromas of fruit creating a welcoming atmosphere.

I visited several times this market and was pleasantly surprised at the abundance of food it offers-fruits and vegetables, meat and fish, dairy products, bread and pastry, all at reasonable prices. The only disadvantage is that the working hours are from 5 am to 2 pm. So if you’re on the move all day, you should visit it early in the morning. But upstairs in the same building there are several restaurants, working late, where you can have a tasty Portuguese meal. We ate at the first restaurant on the right where the owner did his best to cook for us a delicious meal-bacalhau with chips and salad, washed down with white wine. The next evening we went to the same restaurant and the guy welcomed us smiling wide ready to cook whatever we wanted :) We had shrimps and beer - another appetising, tasty meal. I also ordered chips, I like them very muchIn short, don’t miss visiting the market in the morning and in the evening go upstairs to the first restaurant on the right and have a substantial and delicious meal. You’ll be just as delighted as us :)

Very Great market and very friendly sellers. The fruit is best at a small stand run by an older gentleman and the bread is simply delicious at the bakery stand.Very Great market and very friendly sellers. The fruit is best at a small stand run by an older gentleman and the bread is simply delicious at the bakery stand

In this market we can find a restaurant called “Cozinha de Casa”, which opened 7 days ago and has everything it needs to be very successful! The owners are very friendly and make us feel at home. They explained to us that their specialty is Leitão de Negrais, which we didn't try, but it looked very good. They have a daily menu that includes soup + dish + drink and coffee; croquetas, chicken dishes, … various sweets..We tried the oven-baked lamb and chicken, both accompanied by fries, rice and salad and everything was very good! The delicious soup!At the end, the owner of the restaurant also treated us to his homemade condensed milk pudding and his own homemade liqueur and everything was spectacular!100% recommended. It's a great place to eat!
