I would like to start off that I never wrote reviews. With that being said this restaurant made quite the impression on me. Tapas da Cris was the perfect stop for some food after a long day of exploring Sintra. It’s in a great location right off a Main Street so it’s close to everything but a little away from the hustle and bustle. My friends and I sat outside as it was a beautiful day and ordered some tapas to share as well as a liter of red sangria. The sangria was DELICIOUS! It was sweet and fruity but not cloyingly so and it was the perfect way to cool down. Our tapas were delicious and we especially loved the toasts with honey and cheese. At the end of the meal I asked the waitress, who I now believe was the owner, what the wine was as I enjoyed it so much. She came out and showed me the bottle to take a photo of it which was kind. We then paid the check, in cash as I believe it may be cash only but I did not ask, she then brought out a full bottle for us to take back with us. It was just so kind and thoughtful it brought me to tears and then she kindly pointed us in the direction to the train. This meal was truly the icing on the cake after such a wonderful day and it as all thanks to the attentive, kind and generous owner and the delicious food!

Perfect spot for a tasty lunch while you’re in Sintra. In a beautiful, cosy side street. Food is good and the owner is really lovely. Cash only but there’s an ATM right next to it. Worth stopping at over larger and busier places nearby.

A great discovery along the twists and turns of the streets of SINTRA.
The smile at the reception, despite the fact that we were seated without waiting.
A clever move to the left, a small cozy table, pink-green decor and a comfortable bench thanks to 2 small cushions.
Exchanges in English and great availability from the owner.
Choice of dishes:
Two Avocado, Cherry Tomato and Arugula Bruschettas
Two Smoked Salmon, Cheese and Arugula Bruschettas
Drinks:
1 white Sangria served in a large balloon glass
Two glasses of very chilled rosé.
Beautiful colors, beautiful flavors and taste.
Fast, attentive service and a board presentation with 3 brushettas per person.
A meal on an intimate terrace even in the middle of a busy little alley!
Exceptionally clean toilets with a little Zen touch!
THANKS

Tapas are very expensive for a small snack, as the portions are quite small. But tasty in itself. Service friendly and quick. Ambience is nice, in the shade, but a bit cramped and on stools.

We found this little corner by chance, looking to get away from the busiest streets and although in Sintra almost everything is full of tourists like us ?… we found this small place with a lot of charm and very few tables and we love that ?.
Perfect service, and exquisite food.
If you are there, don't hesitate to go to Cris's tapas, a great success ??

Place looks cute on the outside however when we tried to sit down to an empty table with a bench and two chairs a rude and unnecessarily hostile woman told us to leave. If you do not wish to spoil your otherwise beautiful visit to Sintra with an unpleasant experience just avoid.

After finding a place, beautiful and interesting in the menu, being local and wanting to know more, we decided to go in, the first question being whether they would be open, at 5:45 pm. To which we were told that they were almost closing. We left and stayed in a restaurant next door, to our surprise when people started to sit down and be served after 5 minutes.
We returned and asked for the complaints book because we did not understand the situation, which left a lot to be desired on the part of those responsible. Rude, rude, her choice was “don't forget that everything you do for others is reciprocated” While writing in the book, always trying to say something and trying to create a discussion. We saw the name of the street and mispronounced it, which led us to study history. Followed by several exchanges of unpleasant words for those in charge of an establishment. Ending with “may I be happy, I certainly am”. We didn't get to try the food as we were refused from the beginning, to which the lady claims she didn't have time to express herself, when I asked her if they were open. After viewing some of the comments, bad manners are part of the site, as is kicking out customers. We don't recommend it.
Cheers,
