“My wife and I came here yesterday for a curry and it was fantastic. We had been here before 4 years ago and it was great and this time it was just as good. Last year we went to a different curry house in Tavira and it was very disappointing but Dawat was brilliant. Very tasty curries, generous portions and great service. Having had the chance to travel to southern India, we are always tempted by Indian restaurants, although often disappointed.
The cuisine is from North India, so some differences with what we know:
The Naan is a little thicker, the paratha is a kind I didn't know, made with wholemeal flour.
Very positive point: they produce real paneer (a rare thing, often replaced by laughing cow).
We ate vegetarian:
Overall good spices (not necessarily spicy), quality dishes, in good quantity for the price.
The server asks you for the spice level, and adapted perfectly to our desires.

I opted for the Butter Chicken, and I have to say it was the best I have ever tasted.
