“My friend's parents had a good meal here in March and recommended the restaurant, which is in the second row not far from the promenade.
We had a great evening! The starter was mackerel. For the main course we had grilled tuna and spaghetti with prawns. I especially have to praise the tuna, which I've never had so good! The service was also very friendly and accommodating!
One of the best restaurants we visited in Tavira“

“Such a nice place with such delicious food! Went there twice again this holiday. It's unbelievable what delicious food comes out of that tiny kitchen, chapeau! And yes, it is a bit more expensive than “regular” Portuguese cuisine, but worth it. Service also exceptionally adequate and friendly, wine list top and the limoncello spritz as an aperitif also delicious. Recommended! Reservations are recommended, they are often completely full.“

“We stopped for a cold cerveja, the place having attracted us with the view of the bridge... We finally decided to come back for dinner and it was the best decision of the day. Just one word, a real treat both for the eyes and for our stomachs ??? We recommend ++++ Tavira, our little favorite at the start of our stay and a big thank you to the entire BORDA D'AGUA team.“

I didn't expect more seafood that just octopus ?!!! Shrimp and clams and I think scallops maybe. My wife had octopus pasta. We also had breaded octopus as a starter. Every ounce was delicious!!“

“Great food with the extra touch of brilliant presentation. We tried to get a table but the restaurant was fully booked, so we booked to come back another night. It was definitely worth it, the staff are also very nice. It is a place you must try when visiting.“

“Oh Mom, what a spectacular dinner.
Absolutely impeccable, from the fresh and strong mojito sangria to the delicious tuna and shrimp taco starters.
Main course, pork cheeks, a dish that every Portuguese person has eaten a number of times, but which they managed to reinvent, and the green apple puree, cider foam, how wonderful.
To finish, chocolate mousse with honeycomb, salt and olive oil (yes, olive oil and it's brutal) and another grilled and buttered pineapple, with vanilla ice cream and cardamom biscuits.
A new favorite in Tavira, definitely worth repeating.“

“This place was a surprise for us - we entered it after checking the reviews here on Google and it did not disappoint! The food that we ordered was very very good - we had a codfish toast and a charcuterie board with sweet potato, octopus salad and smoked tuna. You could feel in all of the ingredients, that the quality was nice. We also had a very good sangria made on sparkling wine. The service was also great - very very nice and helpful, yet not trying to overstep in any way. The prices might not be the cheapest, but it is quite a touristic area. Overally, we had a great experience!“

“Servings in generous quantities, highlighting the clams, beef bitoque, Alentejo-style meat and Brás-style cod. We come back every year because of the friendliness of the owners, who make my son happy and accompany the dishes he chooses with the wonderful mushroom sauce! Recommended!“

“This is undoubtedly one of the best stocked bakeries in Tavira. There was a young man here that is very friendly and understands English very well. He was also very helpful in choosing new pastries. They have Oat milk! And wifi, that reaches outside. During our visit there was construction so not a great time for outdoor seating but nevertheless, it’s nice to have that option. There were such a nice selection of pastries and savory croquettes. Many almond selections. It’s a nice location tucked away from busy square between a nice fitness gym and popular hotel ! Enjoy“

“This is a really great spot for anyone looking for vegan options in Tavira. The staff were so kind and the food was fresh and delightful. We had the burger and the falafel & salad. Both were awesome and had really thoughtful flavours. Do not miss the desserts though - the fig ice cream was 10/10!“

“My family and I chose this restaurant for its offering of the true flavors of Portuguese cuisine and we really weren't disappointed until dessert time.
The dessert chosen by my husband and I was a lemon meringue tart...existing lemon, meringue from poorly cooked egg whites that left us with a gastrointestinal problem for 3 days.
We notified the restaurant and were told it was impossible as they had not received any other complaints.
Very disappointed ...
It's a real shame because a lot of their menu is very good.“

“Portuguese restaurant with high standards and an eye for detail! Tastefully decorated and even the toilet here is great! Service is very good and the food is absolutely great! It's just a shame that there are cars in front of the terrace, which makes it a bit less pleasant. Must visit!“

“In one word: fabulous!
After staying 10 days in Tavira, this is undoubtedly my favorite restaurant! We went back twice during our stay ?
Very warm welcome, tasty and traditional dishes, green surroundings in the pretty garden located at the back of the restaurant.
I recommend the mixed salad with figs as well as the hamburger (without bread).
You can go there with your eyes closed ?
However, be careful to withdraw beforehand because credit card is not accepted!“

“It is a simple restaurant, frequented by local people, not tourists, with several dishes of the day that are delicious and excellent service from the staff. We also loved the desserts and they also prepare takeaway food.
Vegetarian options: The day we went there were vegetarian options among the dishes to choose from.
Kid-friendliness: The children were very well treated.“

We had octopus salad and shrimp salad for dinner, delicious. You can order half portions. The tomato salad is also very delicious. They do not accept card payment.“

Every dish we tried was simply delicious.
The flavors were perfectly balanced and the presentation of the dishes was to die for.
The service was also impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff.
It is a true culinary gem that deserves to be discovered.
A perfect welcome and service ????
I will come back without hesitation!”“

“It is a restaurant very close to the center, but it offers an experience far removed from the tourist traps that you find on the main streets. A delicious meal and a good quantity (the toast with goat cheese and pumpkin jam was incredible) and the woman who served us was very friendly, she attended to us perfectly in Spanish when she saw that we were Spanish. When we return to Tavira, we will repeat.“

“Another surprising restaurant in the Algarve! We didn’t expect much but were pleasantly impressed. Our waiter was extremely pleasant and we had fun joking with him. The raw oysters were the best we’ve had in Portugal accompanied by a nice inexpensive white wine. Our Portuguese style tuna was a welcome change from the regular seared tuna and much appreciated. Finished off with cheesecake and a local delicacy, a carob, fig and almond tart… superb! One of our best lunches in the Algarve!“

“An excellent choice, we ate fresh fish, unbeatable cod, and the desserts were homemade and very good.
Friendly and kind waiter from the first moment, we went without a reservation and we were 12 people and he treated us very well. 100% recommended and if we return it is a safe visit.“
“Nice cocktail bar with a small but varied menu. We were there several times and were very satisfied with both the food and the service. Absolute recommendation for the Dom burger, which we found to be the best by far! The service staff change, but with one exception we were very satisfied and always felt very comfortable. The roundabout doesn't bother you and is suppressed quite well by the lounge music and the sound walls. Highly recommended!“

“Fresh fish, average prices, efficient employees, the shame is the waiting time, it opens at 11am and 6pm, and there are already people at the door, in short, just go and sleep...
However, it is no longer a rodizio, it comes with a platter for a table for 2 people. With 1 sea bass, 1 sea bream, 1 besugo, 4 sardines, 2 slices of toasted bread, rodizio is now like this.
If you want to do it again, you have to pay for another dose, desserts separately, and not coffee.
However the quality is good.“

“Honestly one of the best pizzerias I've been to in the Algarve. The garlic bread is phenomenal, with lots of mozarella, which I really like. I especially recommend the garlic bread with muxama (smoked tuna) which is very good although it may not be to everyone's taste. The employee is super friendly and helpful, which helped to greatly improve the experience.“

“Very good genre and good service, the desire for the seafood platter was good but it gave the sensation of being frozen. The rest of the things are fine.
The clams, made like the rest of the Algarve.
We ate 4 well with a seafood platter for two and some clams.
With few views of the sea since it has a parking lot and the port, but there is little traffic so it is comfortable.“

“By chance we came across this place. How wonderful! Views of the Tavira river and different and delicious food. Very very friendly waiter, delicious beer and wine. Cool terrace at 3 pm. Attentive chef. Charming. The train passes over the bridge, the children are delighted, there are 8 of us and we are all delighted“

“Very good place on a tourist street. Although it is on the typical bar street, it is a small place with several tables on the street.
The staff was very friendly and attentive and the food was very delicious. We ordered clams, garlic shrimp (not in the photo), grilled octopus and frango grelado (grilled chicken) for the little one.
A bottle of white wine, a juice and an ice cream and we paid €89
It would just remove the singer from the bar next door, but it was part of the show.
It is worth having dinner here, other tables ordered the cod and seafood cataplana which looked very good.“

“I arrived at this place by taking a look at Google map, avoiding the tourist area of Tavira. The place is quite nice, away from the beach area. The short menu, as is the norm in Portugal. They have a charcoal grill where meats predominate over fish. The dishes are very well prepared. We ordered a starter and two mains and the waitress told us it was too much. And we listened to him. The Algarve tuna, magnificent. The dishes are very abundant. To put it a but, a little slow in putting out the food. Medium-Low wrecks.“

“TOP restaurant, we ate very well, very friendly and attentive waiters.
We tried the tuna tartare, the oysters, the walnut and spinach cheese puff pastry, the octopus with sweet potato, the gyozas and the fried anchovies, and everything was spectacular!! I would highlight the puff pastry, the octopus and the gyozas
We drank wine and for dessert they gave us some shots of chocolate and coffee (which they offered us and charged us for, thinking they were inviting us), and it came out to €126 in total (4 people), very good value for money, yes, you have You have to order more tapas than the number of diners to leave well-dinned
I recommend booking, it's always full“

“Other one of those places that take you back in time and where they work and give a good product output like in few other places.
They have the grill in the front window of the facade (something curious) and from your table you can see how your pork cutlets are cooked on the embers without stopping salivating ?
We also tried the cod and a salad more complete than a beachfront in August.
With 4 beers, 1 water and 4 Beiraos we paid 25 eur per drink.
Good option in Tavira.“
“Super good, authentic Portuguese cuisine and three good qualities!
The personnel is adorable and hyper gentle, I recommend your fermés!
Really good, authentic Portuguese food and really good quality.
The staff is adorable and very friendly, you can go there with your eyes closed!

“Wanted a typical Portuguese meal in place more frequented by the locals rather than tourists. This was the place. Terrific food topped off by a nice glass of an Algarve red house wine. Staff were great to meet and offered some nice local places to visit. Loved these guys and their restaurant.“

“Very nice little bar where we had breakfast two mornings. The boss is very friendly and made the effort to understand us! Here everyone knows each other, it’s a café of regulars who come to have their coffee and chat a little before going about their business! We loved the atmosphere.“

“The most relevant thing is that it took them an hour to serve us the food... Even though they are very friendly.
We had simple bruschetta, tabla mista and tuna salad (abundant). Fine without further ado.
With two wines and two beers €40.“
“My husband was looking for a place to draw the old bridge while having a coffee and a light bite . This place was perfect . We had had a large breakfast at the place we were staying so only wanted something small and we ended up having a couple of coffees and the couvert . The bread came with oil and vinegar , olives , a lovely homemade tuna pate and a pickled carrot dish . It was just what we wanted . The staff were very helpful and we really enjoyed sitting here enjoying a lite bite and the views. We hope to come back to Tavira and when we do I look forward to having a proper meal next time“

“We had a very good dinner, two medium pizzas (the same as the large ones) were very good and the service was very fast. The truth is that everything was very good

“I wasn't very sure, in the area it seems that it is to get money from tourists, but the reviews were good.
And it was true, we ate very well and at a good price. The portions are huge and although they are Pakistani, they nail the Portuguese recipes very well. All very good.
We ordered some oysters, octopus in tempura which was very tender, cod also very good and a very generous portion and what we liked the most is an octopus that they make like golden cod, delicious.
All at a very correct price.“

“I'm glad I listened to the reviews. What a great success!
Super recommended. Kindness of service, exquisite food. Super good quantity and unbeatable quality price!!
We chose fish soup (very good), rice with octopus, grilled cod and stewed meat, everything was incredible, very delicious, you can tell that it is traditional and homemade food!“
“One of the best dining experiences we have ever had. Caminho de Casa is 10/10 experience for food, drinks, atmosphere and staff. The restaurant is so cosy it feels like home and the food was delicious. The owners son looked after us that night and we finished off the night with him showing us the rest of the restaurant and explaining that is Dad has run this restaurant for 8 years! We would go back in a heart beat.“

“Amazing lunch: the anchovy bruschetta was incredible - a little oregano, lemon and olive oil. So fresh. And the shrimp with garlic - so double incredible - garlic, butter, paprika and lemon - so tasty. And the service was so attentive. “Privileged location with good appearance.
In August it is difficult due to the movement and too many people.
The service is always at a loss.
Still, we ate at 4pm with fewer people and we were well treated and the food was of good quality with nothing negative to point out.
I'm sure that in June, July, the end of August or September (in short... outside the high season) it can only be better.“

“If you're looking to eat local you've come to the right place!

“Great restaurant experience! The staff was fantastic and nice to us. We started with bean clams and dry tuna, and they were great! Then, we asked for lime & mushroom risotto, and gambas risotto. The risottos were great, but I prefer parmesan cheese on top. To finish, we ordered a typical dessert from Algarve: carob, figs, and almond tart (in the menu, they called it Algarvian mix). The wine from Algarve was good (Reserva White - Monte da Ria) ?“

“Very good food!!
I highly recommend the black pork tenderloin, the meat is very well cooked and seasoned.
Very good dessert, the Isabel Cup. The carob pie had good flavor but was poorly served in terms of quantity.
It could have come with a larger serving of fries, but nothing serious.
In short: In terms of 5-star quality, in terms of quantity for the amount you pay, it is a 3.“

“A Mesa is one of those places where the bib gourmand label fits very well. Unpretentious, affordable, very good food, a really nice find. We picked a few a la carte dishes, all very attractively presented and with well-structured flavor- and texture profiles. Service was very attentive, and overall the place is still relaxed enough that one can either dress up or go in shorts and T-Shirt.“
