Simply 10/10 The best cod I've ever eaten in Portugal ? The spectacular stuffed mushroom starter, an explosion of flavors. Not to mention the exceptional staff, impeccable service, very friendly kitchen staff, Geovana in the kitchen is a sweetheart, very smiling. Nestled quaintly in a charming side alley of Torres Novas, Dom Gula is a hidden gem that delights with its exceptional culinary offerings and warm hospitality. From the moment you step in, the intimate ambiance envelops you, promising a memorable dining experience. This meal was exactly what Had in mind when I exited the A23 highway.
The wine list is nothing short of impressive, offering a curated local selection that caters to all palates. Whether you're a connoisseur or a casual enthusiast, the staff is eager to assist in finding the perfect pairing for your meal.
Starting with the hors d'oeuvres, each bite was a testament to the chef's skill and creativity, even with simple olives, the lemon zest and garlic were perfectly appointed, setting the tone for the courses to follow.
The main courses at Dom Gula truly shine. The Bacalhau was cooked to perfection, flaky and tender, with a depth of flavor that speaks to its traditional roots. Equally outstanding are the jumbo Shrimp and Pork skewers; are succulent and grilled to just the right texture, bursting with freshness. My only note would be to cook the skewers a touch less, as some of the Pork medallions on the end of the skewer were a touch dry (I imagine it's tough to get things perfect when cooking with skewers over an open fire.) Even so, these mains were excellent.
What sets Dom Gula apart, beyond the food, is the attentive and kind wait staff. Their genuine care for the guests' experience is evident in every interaction, making you feel valued and welcomed.
Dom Gula is a must-visit for anyone in Torres Novas, offering a delightful escape into a world of culinary excellence and heartfelt service. We look forward to our next visit!

Quality very expensive price. The quality of the products is poor. The table service is bad. Late . A plate of secrets came to the table, it was simply a blanket of bacon that I refused at the time. It came to the table again as it was the product that the butcher had provided!! You should NEVER have this attitude with a customer. At great cost, another type of meat arrived, however, this dish was immediately rejected and sent to another table...sad!!
The experience was at a dinner. I will definitely not go back.
