We ate for hours : the barnacles were as though they were taken directly from the sea, and the scallops were the most divine thing I have ever eaten in my life: they were silky, creamy, salty...just incredible. We had a dish with rice and lobster which was so delicious and had a wonderful depth of flavor . The wine list was also incredible. I ordered a bottle from one of my favorite producers, and minutes later he ended up sitting at the table next me- and before we knew it, were suddenly sharing stories and wine with him. What are the chances?!?! The service was OUTSTANDING, and they were so patient as my friend continued to order more and more food and wine. This modern, natural wine bar serves a wide variety of ports and wines and deli food: fresh sandwiches, sharing boards, fish dishes, desserts and coffees. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced- we shared the small meat and cheese board with sourdough bread and it was excellent quality. The server was more than happy to make a tomato sandwich for our little boy which he devoured- juicy, fresh tomatoes and fresh from the oven sourdough. The drinks we ordered- port, white wine and an organic soda for the little one were all delicious. Service was fantastic and we had a great chat about Porto with the lady running the place. What makes it so special, besides the fantastic food, is the fact that Miguel runs this restaurant as a one-man show. He stands behind the kitchen and serves all the tables. We had the 3-course “Orient” menu for two people. It was beautifully prepared and incredibly tasty. Likewise the dessert. The crowd was perfect for both of us.

It is a beautiful restaurant hidden away off one of the cobbled streets. A lovely interior theme to it and great ambiance.

The food was delightful, we had starters, main and deserts and all were delicious. Standouts on my meal were the chestnut fondant served with the pork and the peanut and salted caramel cheesecake!
