“Typical Madeira place where you will eat at a very good price. We had regional espetada, along with half of rice and fries. For dessert we shared a Serradura (also typical) and it was perfect for two people.
The meat has a spectacular flavor, totally recommended!“

“Next to Fontinha beach, we find this small house dedicated to Bolo de Caco. The place is very pleasant to eat and relax. The service is excellent, guided by friendliness and competence. The menu is vast, from the bolo de caco with honey to the dog in bolo de caco. There is something for all tastes. I recommend that in addition to tasting the bolos de caco, you also drink a Nikita. Wonder. Highly recommended.“

“La Siesta is a gem!!! It's a bit hidden, bit if you like a unique location plus a lovely host plus great food - this is your place to be! We chose it because of its vicinity to our hotel the beach. Actually it's right at the beach. We had Coconut Shrimps an Bolo de Caco for starters. The Fish'n'Chips plus Greek Salad as main. The Fish was Espada and delicious - as was the rest. Cheesecake for dessert. The mojito was nice, although I've had better. The service was attentive, friendly and smart - we almost felt at home :-)“

“Restaurant with history and name in Porto Santo gastronomy. The characteristic stone walls, the wooden benches, the large terrace make us travel back in time, probably since we went there the first time. And it's still good!
The bolo do caco with garlic butter is excellent, the vine meat and garlic are the best!
And prego is a “must” for anyone who appreciates it.
The service just doesn't get 5 stars because not everyone works the same. The guy who served us was tremendously efficient and fast. While I served 5 tables, the remaining employees didn't even finish serving one!
But it shows that the service in Porto Santo keeps up with the times and is, today, much more effective than it was a few years ago. At least for some!

“Such an amazing meat skewer, one of the best I've ever had! A little out of the way, so you'll need some kind of transport, but well worth the trip.

“We ate the best kebab! Super tender! Dose and a half arrived perfectly for 3 people. The fried minh was delicious! And the curd pudding is a specialty.
Mr Filipe was very friendly, he came to pick us up and bring us to the hotel!
We had dinner on the terrace as it was a fantastic night!

“Excellent in all aspects. We stopped by early to reserve a table when we went from the beach to the hotel and were immediately welcomed. He asked us for contact information so that if there was a table earlier they would call us and so it was, 45 minutes before we received a phone call informing us that we already had a table ready (although then we were unable to arrive much before the scheduled time, but the gesture remains).
Upon arrival, the friendliness of all employees was remarkable. We ordered a black caipirinha and a mojito, which were excellent. As a starter, the cheese gratin, in which the flavor of pink pepper and the sauce on top took the choice to another level.
This was followed by sharing a delicious seafood feijoada. Already more than full (the feijoada is a very generous pot) they invited us to enjoy dessert at a table outside (since the reservation had been so high inside) and so it was... a delicious brownie with ice cream, enough to cry for more , already abroad. But be aware that the interior decoration is no different to the exterior environment.

To be repeated, without a doubt. From the service to the food, to the atmosphere... everything was excellent.“

“Petit bar où les propriétaires sont viticulteurs. Tous les produits de l'épicerie ainsi que le vin et les plats sont faits maison à base des produits récoltés par ce charmant couple, même le pain est fait a base de farine des pépins de raisins. Et tout est de très bonne qualité, nous nous sommes régalés. Vous pourrez également trouver du savon fait maison dans la boutique.“

“We stopped here on our day walking around Sintra for lunch. It's a little way out of the town and a very unpretentious place that focuses on serving good value food. We had omelettes and they were lovely, a good size portion and well presented. It was a nice atmosphere in the bar and service was friendly and efficient. Definitely not a tourist trap and very good value.“
