“Staying at Parque de Campismo de Vila Cha and went in search of local restaurants. What a fabulous and unexpected find! It may not look much from the street but the upstairs restaurant was lovely and full of locals which is usually a good sign. Staff were very attentive and food was absolutely delicious. We ate the monkfish rice to share for mains and it was outstanding. Would strongly recommend a visit. If we were staying here longer we’d definitely come back again!“

“Authentic, original and different tavern. Very friendly service and very good food. It is a perfect place to watch the sunset on the opposite wall with a beer and then have dinner there. We were surprised that it was very cheap too. They told us that the kitchen was late and we waited because the place is worth the wait.“

“Mega delicious food! At first we were confused about where we saw the prices and luckily we only ordered one portion of fish for two, which was completely sufficient! Fantastic location with good weather!!! Space on the terrace with the dogs!“

“Today, together with five other colleagues, we went for lunch at this restaurant called Chã Villa, we were very well received and treated well by both its owner D. Isabel and her collaborators. What was served to us was all impeccably good (roasted sardines, octopus fillets and house-made cod) well done and we promise to return soon. Great price.“

We felt very comfortable in our tavern facing the sea.
He suggested Clams and octopus rice.
It was divine.
Almeijoeiras only with olive oil and salt, served with fresh bread! Very good!“

“Impeccable.
Wonderful food, very good staff.
Just pay attention to the invoice.
I paid €9 for butter that wasn't even on the table. (My fault, I paid and only checked later). But we just have to pay attention to the invoice, otherwise, I advise you. ?“

“We stumbled upon this restaurant. Usually I plan, read reviews, check everything. In this case there was no need. We were greeted by the owner and taken to a nice table with cloth. We had the mixed seafood plate for two. Followed by (wife made)cheese cake. . all was excellent .We will return.“

“The boss is very nice.
While serving at the door, he took the time to answer our questions.
This is what convinced us to enter there.
Very good fish?
Very well grilled and very tasty.
Go there with your eyes closed.
We will return there with great pleasure..“

“Nothing particularly interesting in this francesinha and in this space. Maybe it's a matter of taste, but the sauce is extremely spicy, which I don't like and doesn't allow me to fully taste the other ingredients. The sausages were nice, but the steak was too rare and dry.
The service is relatively fast but quite depersonalized. When we arrived, we waited 10 minutes at the door without any type of interaction from the staff who completely ignored our presence.“

“Excellent!
Well prepared dishes, with one very small flaw! Sufficient quantity.
The "almost" perfect sea rice!
Very professional staff, attentive, friendly and very willing.
The room is large and quiet.
Price, although a little high, is still almost fair.
I will definitely go back and recommend it without a shadow of a doubt.“

“Praça Velha continues to be our go-to restaurant for the prato do dia. Every day, there is a meat or fish dish that is accompanied by salad and potatoes or rice. The meal is started with fresh soup and includes coffee and a dessert (often fresh fruit, chocolate mousse, creme brûlée, or baked cinnamon apple). The prato do dia is always a very-reasonable price and the owners and servers are excellent. You really feel at home here, as they treat each diner with respect. The food is always fresh! It is an easy walk from the main street (one block from the market area) and is nestled in a quaint street. There are about 12 tables for four, one table for 8 or 9, and numerous patio tables.“

“It's probably the only restaurant outside the Mealhada route that can match the quality of the suckling pig! Just watch the whole roast suckling pig pass by, which is cut in front of the customer. “The food was lovely. An amazing treat. We would return simply for the polvo and rice. Wouldn’t recommend with children though, the service is quite stiff and the restaurant quiet so was the least welcoming for families of all the restaurants we have ever been to in Portugal. However we had a nice time overall.“

“Absolutely outstanding restaurant. The chef creativity and execution of the food was incredible. The service was impeccable, very knowledgeable staff. Daniel was great!
We tried the Scallops, which were divine. We then the octopus which was also very good. These were matched with Sidonio de Sousa sparkling wine. We then had the Sea Bass with clams risotto - this was an absolutely outstanding dish! Wow... Finally we tried the lobster with a delicious risotto as well. These dishes were matched with Insula Chao de Lavas, an outstanding wine, perfectly matching the dishes. Finally, we tried their version of the tiramisu...again what a version! Delicious and matching was the fantastic Vinho Madeira Borges! All in all an excellent dinner! Thank you to all the team..“

“Very good quality pastries without a doubt...I would just like to point out one drawback, which is not a problem but sometimes, with a lot of people it is confusing, the tables are very close together and it ends up not being a calm place to enjoy... rest 5 stars... I recommend it!“

“Fresh fish displayed at the entrance and a fire pit next to the road where they will be roasted. Nice atmosphere, friendly service. Prices in line with other restaurants in the region (around 55.00 per kilo), sardines (12.00), side dishes, desserts, etc. Lunch without wine, around 40.00 euros per person.“

“Ended up here by mistake, having thought we’d booked a different restaurant. We were however delighted with the food (lots of meat options - fish has to be ordered in advance) and the service, the team were very friendly and spoke great English and advised on our order and wine. “I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Portuguese restaurant Villa Nova in Tourcoing, France. I'm a big fan of Portuguese cuisine, and I was excited to discover thisrestaurant. The restaurant's menu offers a variety of traditional Portuguese dishes, including starters, main courses and desserts. “We stumbled upon this cafe by chance, where we had a wonderful meal! The owner is really nice and we were guests of this fantastic place, waiting to go to the airport.

“The food is very good, but a little expensive in price. They have also given us bread, olives and some other starters that we had not ordered, so be careful and return everything you don't want because otherwise they will charge.
The portions are a bit fair, but the flavor is excellent. It is clear that they are famous for their cod croquettes, and a good location, in front of the sea, so that they can stop by when they are done.
Poor accessibility for people with reduced mobility, there are stairs to the dining room upstairs, although they have a large terrace on the street.“

“Authentic little place with impeccable prices and large portions. We went here to see where locals come to eat real Portuguese food and were not disappointed.
There is an option for a full menu for €20 per person, but we were not as hungry, so we opted for the haddock fish fillets after a starter of croquets. Both tasted absolutely delicious and I would definitely recommend these. Portions are generous and service is fast; despite the language barrier there were no miscommunications regarding the order. At only €25 including a generous tip, we were full and satisfied.“

“One of the best, if not the best francesinha I've eaten to date. I live so close to this place and had never been here, despite seeing the queues outside the door that announced something good.
The steak is juicy, the meat is good and quality, the cheese is sensational.
The sauce is spicy and the potatoes are very good.
The Fino comes out at the ideal temperature and gas, reminiscent of the Fino from Galicia.
The service is friendly and very competent, guided by discretion and simplicity.
Positive note for the cloth napkins, almost unheard of in restaurants of this type.
Definitely repeating.“

“Having just returned from a trip, 6 friends and I had the excellent idea of ending our vacation with dinner.
We decided to repeat our presence at this house where we had already been in December... and we couldn't have chosen a better place.
We started with the Fino to satisfy our longing for good beer and when we sat down we found an excellent outdoor space, which allowed us to enjoy the late afternoon sun and watch the Euro game.
Moving on to the food: cutlet, naco and posta, accompanied by bean rice (divine) and French fries. Dessert (good pudding) and coffees.
Everything is great… whenever I land in Porto, my dinner will be here!“
“Lovely little cafe/restaurant run by a Portugese couple. Small, maybe fit 10 people inside, but worth a visit. They don't speak English, when asked about a menu the woman listed the ingredients she had and asked what we wanted her to make. Proper Portugese home cooked food, we nick named her our portugese mum! My gf had steak, rice and chips, I had salmon, rice and chips, and we each had a beer, came to 10euro each. I ate all the food before i could take a photo of it! Best salmon I've ever had, definitely worth a visit if you can find it. Across from one of the entrances to the local shopping centre.“

“??Home cooking! With huge portions. Not a ton of English spoken here. But if you try you will easily muddle through. Left phone at home but had the bacalao do braga. Basically fried fish accompanied by onions, peppers and garlic in olive oil and a bit of fresh black olives on top. Accompanied by oval shaped potatoes. Basically the best potato chips ever.
Family oriented friendly and very local! We will be back again soon! You will love the price!

“It was our first night in Lisbon, after arriving from the States a few hours earlier. We had no energy to research restaurants nor to wander more than a few blocks from our hotel. The hotel receptionist recommended Duque, which was just down the street from our lodgings. Arriving at the restaurant, I noted menus posted in Portuguese, English, French, and Italian, and my heart sank a bit as that's usually a sign of a "tourist trap." But no matter, as I said, we had no energy to look further, so we proceeded in the door, and we were so glad that we did. We were greeted promptly & warmly, and immediately shown to a table, despite our lack of reservations. To start, we ordered the couvert, as well as the Caldo Verde soup for my husband and a green salad for me; the latter was not on the menu but I asked if one was available & told that it was. For the main course, my husband had the Oven Roasted Octupus & I ordered the Roast Salmon. All of the food was well prepared and the service could not have been more friendly or attentive. My husband's napkin slid off his lap onto the floor; our waitress noticed & brought him a clean napkin before he had a chance to ask -- something you'd expect at a "fine" restaurant but not necessarily one that is this casual. Looking around the room, it was clear that the restaurant is very "tourist friendly," though not a "tourist trap." I doubt that there was a single Portuguese patron there, though plenty of Americans, British, and Germans. So, if you are bent on finding an obscure "hole-in-the-wall" that is undiscovered by other visitors, that's not Duque. But Duque is perfect if you are seeking well-prepared Portuguese food at a moderate price, in a welcoming, convivial atmosphere.“

“To access the restaurant, just exit the restaurant street (R Heróis de França).
Fresh fish from the sea and other Atlantic delicacies. Try the seasonal seafood. As it is a restaurant with a family atmosphere, but with a small room and a new room set up on the sidewalk, at peak times it is difficult to get good service, so I recommend sitting down early (12:30pm) or making a reservation.
Suggestion: for starters you can order grilled garlic bread. Then a grilled sea bass that can be accompanied by mashed potatoes, but also goes well with naughty greens rice or tomato rice. For dessert, a creamy milk.
With these options it is easy to become a customer.
Toilet area and bathroom decorated with sea motifs.
With WIFI available. Reasonable access for people with reduced mobility.
Free parking at the auction – ask for your parking ticket when leaving the restaurant.
