This was a novel experience for my partner and me. Every plate was made with such intention and thought. The textures of each dish were carefully considered. With every plate, the sommelier and chef would explain each ingredient, where it was sourced, and how it was prepared. All ingredients are local, and any meat products come from free-range farms. It seems like you will never have the same meal twice here, which is perfect, as we plan to return to see what a summer or fall menu would look like!

We loved our evening at this restaurant. Their philosophy, their kindness, the atmosphere, everything is perfect! And what about the delicious food. We particularly appreciated the formula according to which each meal is explained. This allows local producers to be highlighted, which is a big plus.

7-course blind tasting menu with wine pairing, warm atmosphere, excellent food from Charlevoix and unbeatable price. What more could you ask for? I will go back, guaranteed!

We had a wonderful evening. The food was spectacular and the service outstanding. Loved the mushroom course, especially. But all were amazing.

Writing on behalf of a family member’s recent visit. An exceptional dining experience! The original presentation of delicious & well prepared foods served (sourced from the area), wines perfectly paired with each course, atmosphere, and personalized attention given to non-French speaking guests, my family member highly recommends Faux Berges. A must upscale (again) experience when visiting the Charlevoix Region.

This sounds false; from the starter, rave speeches on the dishes and wines, but these are ingenious blends which avoid noble products; never seen with a wine-food pairing that we offer the formula at 2 cl, or 3 cl (for €75), with ultimately wines without any reputation. It’s the quick feeling that the restaurant’s margin takes priority! Big addition, which does not correspond to the level of the dishes. In a word, pretentious, and not generous; the pleasure was not there.

We made reservations for lunch, thinking we would simply be ordering something off the menu. It was absolutely delightful to realize that we had signed up for a five course
experience of dishes made with local foods, each paired with a beverage, and all fabulous. Adding to the experience was the explanation that the small team provided about each pairing. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the Charlevoix region.

Les Faux Bergers is clearly run by an exceptional team of highly talented, intuitive and knowledgeable chefs, and we really appreciated how well sourced the ingredients for every single dish were. You can really feel the love that the chefs have for the produce. A few things to keep in mind:

- The meal is slow paced and lasts for the entire evening (around 4 hours long), this is an immersive experience
- It was surprising for a place next to a fromagerie not to highlight more one of their cheeses as part of the main meal (though you can add it on before desert)
- The terrace could maybe be a little bit more pleasant and decorated, and cloth napkins would be a nice touch

We would still highly recommend this restaurant, it’s definitely a memorable culinary experience in Charlevoix :)

We have a lot to say about this dinner show but I will limit myself to the most disconcerting: at the Migneron cheese estate, you will not eat Migeron cheese! The wheels in the maturing chamber are nevertheless proudly presented through a museum display case but never a single slice will land on your plate. Unless you treat yourself to the $24 cheese platter. You will then obtain three slices so thin that I still wonder what knife so thin could have been used!
