Bâton Rouge Grillhouse & Bar

We came into the restaurant around 9:30-9:40PM on August 26 and were extremely disappointed with the service. There were only three tables occupied when we arrived, so it wasn’t busy at all. Despite that, we sat there for 10–15 minutes without anyone acknowledging us—not even a simple hello or a glass of water. The waitress looked at us a few times but never came over. It felt like we were completely ignored. We ended up leaving without being served. Very unprofessional and disappointing experience.

We had an amazing experience thanks to our waiter, Matthew! He took the time to really listen to our needs, made sure our order was exactly right, and treated us with such respect and care throughout the evening. His attention to detail and friendly attitude made our visit so enjoyable. If you’re in Baton Rouge West Island, I highly recommend asking for Matthew — you’ll be in great hands!

Bâton Rouge is the perfect place for a delicious and satisfying meal. Their ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender, steaks are cooked to perfection, and every dish is full of flavor. Portions are generous, and the sides are fresh and tasty. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, ideal for both casual dinners and special occasions. The staff is friendly, attentive, and makes sure you have everything you need. Consistently great food and excellent service – a restaurant you’ll want to come back to again and again!

This reminded me of a Chilis (United States). Not exactly a compliment.

It was loud. Our party was large so I can understand a couple mix-ups, however; it was every other order was a little off.

Our waiter was great, I think he had multiple tables so other servers chipped in.

Good food but when you pay, make sure you tip before the tax. The machine they used might of been an older one since the tip was after the tax. The new law in Quebec is tip before tax. Otherwise everything else was good.

We had a wonderful server, who was patient and explained everything in details. While the service was outstanding, the food was horrible. Everything was over salted, yet it lacked real flavour. The fries were limp and undercooked.

Nice cozy location, but most staffers requires a little bit of coaching when it comes to serving the general public. Will increase rating if an improvement is apparent next time I frequent this establishement. Kind regards

Very poor food experience at very exaggerated prices. Meal arrived with COLD garlic mashed potatoes, a large piece of broccoli and one of cauliflower and 2 small pieces of chicken with mushroom sauce. Had to wait to get hot garlic mashed potatoes. Total bill + tax and tip $79.34. Total value of both meals <$10. Used to be a fan. Hard lesson well learned.

Recommended dishes: Seasonal Vegetables, Ribs and Lobster Tail, Spinach Dip, Ceasar Salad, Potato Soup with Cheddar Cheese, Ribs and Chicken Tenders with Fries

red hair reception girl seemed like she hated her life. not very welcoming. steak was drenched in salt. Fries were drenched in salt. Waitress was nice but had to remind her to bring me a drink. probably won't come back.

Costly, with large plates that are full of fries or pasta, but with small portions of meat or seafood. I ordered seafood linguini and it came with a kilo of soft, gooey pasta and only six small shrimp and scallops. I won't order that again. The other plates were drowning in fries.

We had to write another review to say that our waitress, Miranda, was fantastic, super friendly, personable and quite the powerhouse, and the food, along with her recommendations were great!!
