Our brunch at Bistro Nolah was an absolute delight, enjoyed on their charming outdoor terrace. The dishes were nothing short of extraordinary—we indulged in the exquisite surf and turf Benedict and the perfectly crisp fried chicken Benedict, complemented by a half plate of ham egg Benedict and a decadent side of praline bacon. Each bite showcased high-quality ingredients and impeccable presentation, making for an unforgettable experience.
This place is amazing! Food tastes like it has been cooked with love and care! Enterance is beautiful like a small garden and inside the vibe is jazz cozy with a beautiful small bar. The food makes me go back and i always enjoy every bite!
I’ve been going to Nolah’s since they opened. It’s the only restaurant I can truthfully say is consistently top notch, meal after meal.
They serve quality and don’t compromise. The service is exceptional and they are never too busy to accommodate anything within their power.
While I miss the scallops that used to be part of the menu, it allowed me to try other dishes like the catfish, the braised beef (drool) and my husbands favourite, the shrimp and grits!
The fried chicken is bar-none the best I’ve had and when they have pork belly, don’t think twice, order it. You’re welcome!
Very difficult to connect 2 tables together. Even if planned weeks in advance. Not customer oriented. Unfortunate as I have been many times and spent thousands of $$ over the years. Told Chef Richard I would place a Google review about this because it makes no sense to me. His tone of voice suddenly got very aggressive and thats when I decided to take my business elsewhere. Oh well, there are a lot of other good restaurants in the West Island.
I have been to this restaurant many times.... I live five hours away. Excellent cooking, lovely presentations, great service, charming space. Always. A reservation is almost always necessary.
Excellent food and service. Everything was prepared with quality ingredients and care in its presentation. Definitely will return to this restaurant!
One of the best restaurants of my whole life everything is so good so fresh so amazing recommend to everyone and definitely will come back
We visited Bistro Nolah, a refined restaurant inspired by the rich and soulful cuisine of New Orleans, Louisiana. The name “Nolah” is a nod to NOLA (New Orleans, LA), and it’s a fitting tribute—the flavors truly capture the spirit of the region.
The space is small and cozy, with a vibrant, energetic atmosphere. The lively background noise adds to the charm, creating a warm and animated dining experience without feeling overwhelming.
The menu is compact, but each dish is thoughtfully crafted. We began with the jambalaya arancini, served with a deliciously spicy sauce that lingered pleasantly on the palate.
For our main courses, we had the smoked brisket—exceptionally tender and beautifully seasoned—and the shrimp and grits. The shrimp had a bold, spicy profile, perfectly balanced by the smooth, comforting grit. Each bite was both satisfying and refined.
To finish, we shared the banana cheesecake flambéed with Jack Daniel’s—rich, indulgent, and the perfect finale.
Bistro Nolah offers a more upscale dining experience, and while it comes at a higher cost, the quality, attention to detail, and overall atmosphere make it well worth it. I would gladly recommend it for a special occasion or a memorable evening out.
I had my wedding dinner here on May 22 2025. Customer service is A1! We dealt with Christopher Eamer from a year in advance to plan our day, and he graciously answered all my many questions! 😊 Christopher provided options in advance for people with food sensitivities. They allowed us to decorate the tables before we arrrived, and were so accommodating in allowing my guests and I to enter the restaurant an hour before their actual opening time in order for us to have some private time with our guests. 🙏 The waiters were very friendly and listened to our needs. The food was amazing! We had a personalized menu and everybody enjoyed what they ordered. Those hush puppies were unexpected and the bomb!! 😋. Guests from the US have promised to go back there on their next visit to Montreal. Thanks for everything Bistro Nolah!!
The Banana Fosters Cheesecake is amazing! So is the fried chicken!

Magnificent little intimate restaurant, with original cocktail and table creations.
Everything is good. We recommend having several dishes and sharing. Gumbo and jambalaya at the top. Don't miss the desserts either.
We find ourselves here as in the restaurants of the Vieux Carré in the N.O. Smiling, courteous and efficient service.
With family, friends or as a couple. All good options.
Fair prices.
Highly recommend ??
