The food, as usual was close to perfection. Gumbo, braised short ribs, shrimp and lobster salad, shrimp and grits. All were excellent and authentic. The Bistro sits people close together and the acoustics bounce the sounds around the room. Conversations can be difficult as the noise level rises.

My husband and I celebrated my birthday on Sunday specifically for the tasting menu. We were happily welcomed by Mathew and seated outside as it was a beautiful evening. Catherine was our waitress and she ensured we were happy with the food and service. The tasting menu was delicious. We started with the gumbo which had tasty spices and served with hush puppies. We were served warm bread with a chipotle whipped butter. Next we had the perfectly spiced and grilled shrimp with a scallop and caviar served on sweet potato. The mixed spring salad with sliced apples and candied pecans with goat cheese was refreshing. Our main dish was duck confit with grits and we finished with the banana foster dessert which was absolutely decadent. The ambiance and service was impeccable and I highly recommend the tasting menu as it offers a fantastic variety of their dishes. I cannot wait to come back and try more of their signature dishes.

I've always loved Bistro Nolah. Hadn't been in awhile. I was a bit disappointed this time. Service was slow, . One friends meal was brought much too early and was cold by the time the other two came. I ordered the scallops which looked beautiful and tasted nice although I thought $56 for 3 scallops was a bit high. I regret my choice. . I also ordered wine to go with my meal and it never came.
