Escondite West Island

I don't know how it can be called a Mexican restaurant when the food is garbage. $13 for two chicken nugget tacos, is an insult to Mexicans; the food tastes awful. I think people go there for the alcoholic drinks, not the food.

250$ for what's seen in attached picture, pactically theft. 8$ for a cornbread muffin and 10$ per taco? We picked this up down the street shortly after they opened on Sunday night and the tacos were dry. Unfathomable. Won't be ordering here again.

Honestly, given that we were the only group in the restaurant (it was a storm day so there was really no other customers there), the service was slow and they missed some of our orders - I also find the drinks Extremely expensive

Water tasts like alge, I couldn't stomach it. Seems like a west island problem the restaurant should be aware of. No chips and salsa, no hot sause with tacos. Key ingredient was missing from my tacos (the cactus).

A place with pleasant decor. The food is ok but a little expensive for tapas as a single dish is not enough.

Truly the most authentic Mexican food with a twist on the West Island! The tacos Birria are the best we've ever had, and the mushroom quesadilla is phenomenal! I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Escondite to anyone!!!

The food was as good as always and the waitress was extremely nice and friendly. I’m just disappointed that we were charged for extra nachos to finish the guac. The nacho portion should match the guac portion… it’s not the amount, it’s the principle. Still giving them 5 stars all around.

Food was good service was bad the waitress working barely came to see us during the diner the place was dead and she was just standing around looking lost we had to had to ask for more drinks.

Had a great experience at Escondite! The vibe was amazing, and the food was fantastic. Our server, Lily, was amazing she was super friendly, attentive, and gave some great recommendations. It really made the meal even better. Definitely one of those places I’ll be coming back to!

Super expensive, food not up to par (somehow all the chicken was extremely extremely dry to the point that it made me question whether Mexican chicken is dry?!), very expensive for leaving the resto hungry. Oh and...surprise surprise, they have no change table. 🙃🙃🙃🙃

Spent our 22nd anniversary dining here this past weekend. Our server was super sweet and helpful. Gave us options, answered our questions and made recommendations. The drinks were great! Corn bread was almost a no-go due to a broken machine, but was replaced just in time for us to enjoy! I asked for another, it was on the house! 3 different types of tacos (fish, steak & chicken) all excellent and written in order of preference. Chips and guac were tasty as well. Wee are believers that great food tastes better when the service is exceptional, and she didn't disappoint. We will be back for sure!!
