Hansel & Bagel

I stopped by Hansel and Bagel this morning, and it was everything I needed to start the day right. I had a delicious bagel sandwich the bagels were warm, soft, and perfectly fluffy, just how I like them! I ended up grabbing a dozen to take home because I couldn’t resist. super fresh and satisfying.

Shoutout to the young man who helped me. He was super friendly and made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. I’ll definitely be back!

My family has lived in D.D.O. for over 45 years and we have been buying our bagels from this spot ever since it opened in the Marche. It was always top notch! Even now the bagels are still good, that being said the service has become increasingly erratic. I'm not sure what happened, if it was sold off, or new management but the people running this shop have shown very irascible behaviours. This is Montreal, there are a million bagel shops, and with service like I've been experiencing I will be making purchases elsewhere. Bagels good - service bad.

A lot of options of sweet it’s impossible to leave hansel & bagel without taking something. They have a sweet interaction with clients and make them feel like home. Food wise I don’t have to explain myself it’s really tasty and filling. Everyone should try this place it is incredible!

the bagels are always fresh, chewy inside with the perfect crisp outside. you can taste the quality in every bite.

Brought my four-year-old son for a special bagel breakfast before daycare this morning. I ordered a rainbow bagel with cream cheese and after waiting some time, I realize that perhaps they may be toasting it (although I did not ask for it to be toasted) I turned around and told the owner please don’t toast it. He then said “well it’s made now so what are we going to do about it?” After explaining that I did not request the bagel to be toasted nor was I informed that they would be toasting it, he continued to throw his hands up in the air and ask what we will do about this now. It was at that point that I took my four-year-old son and the additional rainbow bagels I had purchased home to make him a rainbow bagel with cream cheese, not toasted. As a business owner, misunderstandings with customers happen. Clearly the rainbow bagel was not for me, but for my four year-old who won’t eat it toasted. The right thing to do was to offer a new one and let me know to ask for it not to be toasted next time. I’ve been buying my bagels from here for many many years, but since the new ownership it’s much less friendly and the bagels have definitely changed. The only reason I had still been coming here was to get the rainbow bagels for my children, but I don’t think I’ll be doing that anymore.

I am a regular customer for take-out. I have never ordered a sandwich to stay and eat therefore I wasn’t aware of the procedure. It only occurred to me it may be being toasted when it was taking a while for the bagel to be ready. Everyone in the reviews reading can see what I’m referring to by your doubling down on and defending your lack of service and accommodation. Again, the correct thing to do as a business owner would have been to correct the issue and let me know the procedure for the next visit, especially considering the rainbow bagel was clearly meant for a 4 year old child and not myself.

Today was my first time at Hansel Bagel. The sandwich was delicious, and reasonably priced which is rare these days, and the people were super sweet. I highly recommend!

Incredible service and delicious food! I stopped by Hansel Bagel and was blown away by how friendly and efficient the staff were. I ordered their everything bagel with cream cheese and lox, and it was absolutely perfect. The bagel was fresh, perfectly toasted, and the combination of cream cheese and lox was just divine. Definitely my new go-to spot for bagels. Highly recommend if you're looking for great food and top-notch service!

Meh. Not the best tasting bagels I've had. I expected more and wanted to like this place. They were gummy, hard, dry. Seemed old and not fresh. As another reviewer stated, they are like grocery store bagged bagels. At this point, a bagel from tim hortons, mcdonalds or wendys tastes better. Sorry but the quality and taste were not for me. ?
