La Serenata Restaurant

We visited tonight for my husband’s birthday after seeing good reviews. We ordered the fried calamari, filet mignon and the seafood linguini.

The fried calamari was thin and flavourful on top, but the pieces at the bottom were bland. The steak was cooked very well and my husband enjoyed it (4/5). My seafood linguini overall was disappointing; the red sauce was good but the shrimp, scallops and calamari had no seasoning, making the dish bland. I even asked my husband to try it to be sure, and he agreed it was bland (3/5).

For dessert, we tried the crème brûlée and Ferrero Rocher cake. The cake was moist and not too sweet, and the crème brûlée was fine but nothing special (3.5/5).

Service and ambiance were decent and it did get busy for a Monday night. Overall, it is a nice place to try once but I would not return.

Good food but overpriced, specially for the wine bottles. The evening costed roughly 400$ and we were 3 people.

Passed by for lunch. I asked for a Caesar salad with chicken on it. (Caesar salad is 12$) somehow adding a few thin stripes of chicken ends up being 30$. It wasn’t bad very average, maybe because I didn’t dine in but will maybe pass by again to try an actual meal. My experience was subpar.

On Thursday night, the Nissan Team hosted our Nissan Chairman for a diner with a few Quebec Nissan Dealers for an evening of meet and greet.

I’m so glad I’ve rediscovered this restaurant. Used to go years ago often!
The new location is bright and vibrant, decor is first class. Now let’s start with the food, if I give it 6 stars I would. Service was fantastic and the waiter was so accommodating with customized menu items.
The lentil soup just we love it , tomoto salad that I’m still dreaming about! My pasta with scallops was spot on. The wine selection is fantastic! I strongly suggest don’t walk but run there you will absolutely love it.

We were 2 couples eating at this restaurant. We were warmly greeted upon entry and seated. Service was good and menu had Table D’hote and A la carte options. We all went with the first. We were treated to a complimentary plate of bruschetta toast and they were nice. The starter salad was good but the angel hair pasta was delicious. I had the chicken Saltimboca and my wife and my friend had the Mediterranean Sea bass and his wife had the lamb shank. The largest portion was by far the lamb. The chicken was good but nothing special. The sea bass was a particularly small portion which was ok for my wife but small for my buddy. All in all, the value is there and food was decent. The standout was the pasta. An enjoyable evening.

I never leave reviews but felt compelled to leave one for la serenata.

- the risotto is absolutely perfect; it’s creamy, flavourful, and the assortment of mushrooms compliments the dish perfectly
- I also recommend the lamb. It was perfectly cooked and paired with a delicious sauce
- the crème brûlée is proportioned very well
- the tiramisu is also incredible I highly recommend
- If you get Danny as a waiter you will be very well taken care of. He is observant and attentive, we never sat with an empty glass or missing utensil; Danny sees all!!! (Give Danny a raise)
- the bathrooms are wonderful. Clean and nice.
