Terrible service from management
🚨🚨I believe that A FOOD INSPECTION should come and evaluate this restaurant 🚨🚨

I recently visited what was supposed to be a high-end sushi restaurant, and it turned out to be a complete disappointment. The teriyaki chicken was tasteless and nowhere near the quality I expected. To make matters worse, the manager was incredibly unprofessional. Despite promising to resolve the situation, nothing was done, and it felt like our concerns were completely ignored. Honestly, it might be worth having a food inspector involved because the overall quality and service are far below what one would expect from an establishment of this caliber. Our group left thoroughly disappointed and with no intention of returning.

This used to be an elegant, upscale spot. We just moved back to Montreal after 10 years, and I was so excited to see Maiko survived covid. Unfortunately their standards have fallen so low it's now a glorified cafeteria. It's cramped, loud, and the behavior they allow is just appalling. People on the phone, kids watching youtube at full volume...when we asked the waiter to have a word with the obnoxious table next to us, there was no follow through. It's obvious this behavior from customers has become the norm. Such a shame because the food is delicious, will not be back.

We had passed by Maiko Sushi many times before but never really paid attention to it. Yesterday, after work, we didn’t feel like going far and decided to finally give it a try — and wow, what a great decision.
From the moment we walked in, the experience was fantastic. Since we didn’t have a reservation, we were kindly informed that the table would be available for a limited time, which was completely fair and not a problem at all.
We were attended by José, who was incredibly friendly and professional. His recommendations were spot on — everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The quality of the food was outstanding. Easily one of the best sushi experiences we’ve had lately, and we’ve tried many places.
Service timing was completely understandable, as it was evident the restaurant was quite busy. The place gradually filled up while we were there, and by the time we left it was absolutely packed, completely full — which speaks for how popular and well-loved it is.
The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. The atmosphere, the food, and the care from the staff made the evening memorable.
We will definitely keep coming back. Maiko Sushi has officially become one of our favorite sushi spots — truly the best discovery of 2026 so far.

What an experience I had tonight at maiko. My waiter Will was exceptional. He was constantly checking our table and provided a great service. The food was just as good as the service. Would recommend for sure.

I ordered the wagyu Sushi Rolls, thinking it's the Maki Sushi Rolls and when I got home , I noticed it was only two strips of thinly sliced beef, with rice at the bottom that has fallen apart, for the price of 28.99. When I called them back the lady explained oh the Wagyu Maki, you didn't specify. Never again. Everything else was good. But honestly, it makes you wonder , who's making these prices up. My total bill was 79 dollars. For that price I could have eaten at the Keg.

So so good 😍 Maiko Sushi never disappoints. The lemon one was honestly my favorite such a perfect balance of flavor. Service was excellent, fast, and super welcoming. Highly recommend

The service at the entrance was honestly terrible. I arrived and told them we had a reservation under a specific name. The two hostesses checked their system and simply said, “No, sorry, no reservation under that name.” They didn’t try to double-check, ask for the time of the reservation, or make any effort to help. They just left me standing there without any support.
While I was waiting for the group, I turned back toward the front desk and they were laughing together, which made the situation feel even more unprofessional.
When my group arrived, my colleagues confirmed the reservation name again, and suddenly the hostesses said, “Oh yes, it’s because it was written differently.” I found it extremely unprofessional that they let me stand there without trying to verify anything.
But the food? Absolutely delicious — wow!

Food was extremely disappointing for the expensive prices they charge. We tried a variety of different sushis and it was really not good quality and the flavours were very plain. There are MUCH better sushi restaurants and I will not be returning ever again. I do not recommend this place at all.
